            Well, I finally found the vacuum leak I've been chasing down, and in the process found out my lower intake manifold is leaking. Pulled the oil cap off and it's got a fair amount on moisture on it and the filler neck. Thank god no coolant as made it's way into my oil yet, just visa versa. Anyways, got upper and lower intake gaskets being shipped out now.

              Condensation in the oil cap does not always mean coolant and oil mixed somewhere.

                I guess I failed to mention that there is coolant burned onto my driver side header. What else could it mean?

                  Between Ebay, Amazon, and ZZP, just dropped almost $900 on my engine...That puts me about halfway on this build. Still gotta find a low mileage L26 and order a custom cam.

                    Jeez, you got off cheap.. o.O I had a $2300 order from ZZP plus probably 1500 to other places in the past 6-8 months.

                    But today, I got my FMIC in place, and bolted in. Looks alot better now that I cleaned up the mounts.

                      Not going for sleeper or conserving mpgs I see. I think Andrew said that cutting you bumper makes you loose 5 mpg on the highway

                            Docta, You're going FI, I'm staying NA...I'm guessing that's where the difference is between our builds is cost wise. When it's all said and done, I'll have anywhere from $2-3,000 tied up in this motor depending on if I go with higher compression pistons or not.

                            Alex, I'm just thinking out loud here, and maybe it won't have as big of an effect as I'm thinking it would...Will having your intercooler mounted there cause any lift on the front end since less air is able to travel through there, possibly forcing the nose up? And also, will it cause less air to access the radiator?

                              I've never had an overheating problem. As for the nose going up I think the front end of the car is heavy enough to keep it on the ground. Ive never experienced any lift

                                I suppose the aerodynamics and weight of the front should keep the nose down. It surprises me though that you haven't had any overheating issues with the air restricted to the radiator like that and living in Texas. Good to see it's not causing any cooling issues though.
