Initial fueling, special rules, special tests. Go to a red stall condition, no phones, key fobs, all equipment is explosion proof.

I finally installed a restrictor in my turbo oil feed line. After reading about when and when not to.. After a lot of threads saying no restrictor should be used for a journal bearing turbo, up until you see oil getting past the seals, I found oil getting past my seals. Mine is .062 and it seems sooo tiny. The turbo is due for a rebuild too since it's got some play in the shaft. Seems like it could have lasted a few thousand more miles. Oh, and it's a .60ar.

Ohhhh I see. I thought it was a C-check. I don't think the 787 is old enough for one yet.

Nope in fact one of the big deals about the 787 is the time between overhauls and heavy checks.

But because of that, we have to be a bit more stringent with our initial testing for the FAA to approve it.

          here is some 787 propaganda

Been screwin around with the bird, an there is officially no back seats, and no carpet/plastic past the luggage shelf in the back, no trash, floor mats, and kick panels are gone. Lost roughly 100-150 lbs. Looking to where I can lose more, cut the tips of the exaust, maybe lose the a/c, but I figure I can do that when I pull everything apart for the cam swap. The car feels a bit quicker, but now I have little traction, I can definately notice that the tires break loose a lot easier.

Worked ground crew for initial engine start, of 2 GEnxs. Something unnatural about standing 20 ft. in front of a jet engine at 80% power pushing out over 100,000 lbs of thrust, bouncing around so much my headphone cord went under the nose gear tires.

also just brought home $240 worth of groceries in the 3rd gen.

Also parked the 2000 Camaro in the garage, funny clunk from the front end I don't geel to good about. Funny how my 27 year old car is in better running condition then a 12 year old car.

close the nut was stripped out, and threads a little beat up. I hit it wtih a tap/die set, and found 2 heavy duty nuts, and put one one, then used the other as a jam nut. Slapped it all back together. Car rides smooth again.

Glad you were able to get that taken care of!

I spent yesterday (my only day off) spending money. I bought a 2003 Kawasaki KX 125. Dude gave me a hell of a deal. For a $1000 I got the bike, a brand new pair of never worn thor quadrant boots, a stand, a ramp, 5 gallons of already mixed gas, a almost full jug of oil, helmet, and goggles. The amount of fun I had yesterday alone was worth the price of admission. The top end is super fresh, like a month old, and the thing runs like a pissed off gorilla. Not saying the bike is fast, but with only a 130lb rider to move, it gets going quick thats for sure. It's kinda hard to handle in the sand, will wear you out in a heart beat. We are supposed to officially come back from the field on friday, so this weekend I'll be riding more.

As far as the firebird goes, my wife has been driving it. She usually drives her truck, but it gets such terrible gas milage that she finally broke down and learned to drive the bird. It is third in line for work to be done. My buddy burned a hole in his piston on his quad (2 stroke) so getting his engine rebuilt is first on the list. After that we are going to build an engine for his bug, cause lord knows it needs more power. THEN cam swap time, hopefully within a couple months. I still need to get the wife a quad to ride on.
