Changed brake pads and brake shoes on my Honda Civic. I just hate brake shoes. Some many components to remove and move on this darn little thing.

Could be worse, I had to buy a special tool for $30 just to get the horse shoe spring back on my rear drum brakes on my 08' Silverado. Had to wait a few days for the part to come in, was the worst drum brake setup I have ever seen. I had to call around and finally called my mechanic and he said the same thing , you need the tool to do the rear drums. The front disks were easy to change.

I bet, since the brake drums on your truck is probably twice the size of my little Honda.

I don't know about your area, but the Pep Boys here can rent out tools for your brake drums.

Yeah , I called around and actually went to Autozone and Oreilys and they just looked puzzled to what I was talking about.LOL I never thought about Pepboys, there a little ways out there from my house but will give them a try if I ever need to rent a tool. Most of the time I just buy the tools anyway just to add to my collection.

Got my passenger's valve cover gasket off. (doing a LIM job, doing other stuff now that I have the LIM off and enjoying the space of a lim/plenum less engine).

If anyone is interested in a how to for this forum with pics (which seems hard to come by for this car for some reason), let me know.
