Does anyone here use or have used Magic Jack?

I've been thinking of buying this. I make a ton of long distance calls, especially to Asia and Europe and I was wondering if plugging in a Magic Jack to my computer and then to my Lanline would make my calls there free?

I know James aka 12sec.V6 made a thread on this like many years ago, but I can't find it.

Right now I'm using a lot of phone cards and instead of putting in another dollar into it I was thinking if I should get Magic Jack?

i used magic jack for a bit, kinda cool. any voice mails are sent to your e-mail account used when registering.

only calls I ever made long distance overseas were from Turkey or Iraq over DSN lines. does the website mention anything about this?

We set up my mom on magic jack and it has worked very well.

There is this other magic invention called www.google.com
It is amazing. Also, try going to magic jack's website (international section):

From US to another country = you pay their phone rates
From another country to US = free as long as you can find an internet connection

its free making an international call if the person you are calling has magic jack also.....so once its magic jack to magic jack its free

I used it for my business for a few years. It works well as long as you have a good internet connection. Only downside is if your power or internet is down you have no phone (voicemail still works though). I liked the voicemail notifications being sent to my cell phone. I could get back to my customers immediately when they called and left a message. No matter where I was.
