Drove by two used car lots saw a 2000 Firebird..great paint...$1995
then a nice White 2000 Camaro....$2000.
It made me absolutely sick.
U have to consider the value today if you spend any money on the car
for fixing scratches, bumps in the fender etc. U may spend half of
the car's value to get the work done.
If you need a new engine...forget about it.

LOL Thats why I've kept mine , no need for a newer Camaro.

I dont know where you are, but in el paso, people are still asking $4k for a 2000. I saw a firebird on craigslist the other day, they were asking $1500, it had a terribly interior, a mismatched spoiler, and all sorts of terrible-ness to it. It really all depends on where you are. I need to be there (where you are), maybe people wouldn't be asking arms and legs for V8 cars that need plenty of work.

Who cares!
I don't own or mod my Firebird based on it's used car lot value. The comments I get for my modding efforts make it "worth it".
If the car's value is important to you - you are not in the CAR HOBBY!
.
I could care less how much my car is worth to someone else. The fact that I put less than $1000 a year in maintenance is still cheaper than car payments for a brand new car. I have over 114,000 miles on it and it still feels new to me. I enjoy driving it everyday. The few performances mods I did, made me not desire a new car anyway.

This is why I still own my car. I have put in double what I paid for the car, It would be pointless to sell it, I would lose my BUTT! I keep it cause I like it.

A nice V6 Fbody still goes $5-7K up here private sale depending on condition.
In case you haven't figured out the car hobby "value doesn't matter".
I didn't spend $1300 on new rims/ tires for my 'maro because I thought it might increase the value.... To each is their own, but to me this car is a hobby. I dump money into it for my enjoyment, it isn't an investment or a necessity. Blue book doesn't have a tab for sentimental value, either!
In America's Hat!
1997 Camaro 30th 'vert... GT1 cam/C6 wheels/Flowmaster/HIDs/Viper 2 way alarm/Alpine audio mods up the wazoo
2005 Equinox LT... mostly stock daily/Thule snowsports roof system/sound + interior mods

I was going to say a good low mileage one, can sell in the $5k range.
around here they seem to be $3500 cars unless they are beat.
Mine was lower mileage, 105kish but had paint issues, tire leak, bad throw out bearing, shocks, brakes, and heat didn't work.
Took some work but has been a good car the last 2 years.
the prices are a little higher here where i live, i saw a 2002 v6 going for 10k a few months ago, dealers usually are asking between 4-6k for 98+ v6 f bodies, and 7-8k for ls1's with average mileage
You can ask whatever you want, I would never pay that. I can ask $50,000 for my beat to hell '95, doesn't mean I'm going to get it. Dealers know this. If you knew how much they paid at auction, you'd puke

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
