Re: Current $ Value of our cars

The value of our fbodies were going down, but I notice lately that they tapered down and it's been steadily holding still. I have feeling the value will start to creep up in the near future. Just like the Fiero.

I bought my 96' camaro in 00' for $7250. I know I'd never get the money back that I've put into it, but I honestly wouldnt take $15,000 for it.

You see the price I'm asking for mine in the classifieds. If it sells, it sells and I'll take the money.. If it doesn't well then I'll have 2 F-body's. I just picked up a '00 Trans Am for $5500. Needs front bumper, headlights, and paint, but it's a nice car besides those things.

Considering Florida is not in a Recession but in a DEPRESSION, perhaps that is the low resale value but of course they do not have the marks of being in a winter for ten years. Single family Homes here going for as little as $17,500..not a mobile not a condo.

Its a hard top. I have a thing with F-bodies that they need to be a ttop car. My firehawk was a Hardtop and I hated it. It was the main reason why I got rid of it.. And the fact it was a LT1 didnt help either!!

Re: Current $ Value of our cars

I have decided to spend many many thousands on restoring my 97 Ws68 Convertible in the near future to almost new condition... Maybe in the next couple of weeks I will begin putting some money in it.. I've had it since I drove it off the show room floor in 1997 with 17 miles on it.. I will never sell my Baby.. It now rolled over to 139K miles and still for the most part driving great.. I Payed $23,500.
It now needs a complete paint job.. including engine compartment, door, trunk and hood jams.. Needs some engine work, I can not get rid of a stutter, so I might do a Ls1 Swap, trans and Diff. New Top.. back to original wheels.. and re upholster thew interior in leather... Maybe 10K later and give her another 15 year run!!

This and the sentimental reason is why I will never sell!!

Thats why I'm keeping mine. Eventually when I can bring it out here to California ill do the turbo swap and keep it for many years. Same with the Fiero. I don't see myself ever selling either car.

                            Very nice.

I figure my car would fetch maybe $1500. It runs great and is loads of fun to drive.

I'm figuring the passenger side headlight motor/gear is due to die soon. It is still the original headlight motor and nylon gear. The driver's side headlight motor was replaced (plus brass gear) long ago.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
