got burned last "big" storm, 5 days w/o power, not going to this time. waiting at home depot 2hrs from home so they can open 2hrs early sine all stores sold out where i live. how many of uall out there have them? gonna get the most powerful my meager budget allows ( hooray for military discount! ). power/telephone maint in my area sux, specially since i live out in BFE

was able to get a 6000/7500 watt generator. Power out for 10 mins already, I guess my next project is to have a switch box installed so no power cords everywhere.....

How's the weather? Is it really bad? We're starting to get rain roll in here...a few people to the north I know have lost power already. I'm not anticipating it being too bad though. I am more concerned about having a branch land on my car from the high winds we're going to be getting.

more rain than wind. But power went out @ 750 so i gots the fridges, directv and big screen going (priorities) and girls room hooked up w/tv n candles

I lost power here for about an hour or so...pissed me off because it was right in the middle of me switching service from my BB to my iphone and bad timing stuck me with no phone...I just about went apesh*t with nothing to do lol

On a side note, as I was leaving work today I saw a women get vortexed out the door about 10 feet. Was pretty funny.

On a not so funny note, a big staples sign not too far from here flew off a building and hit some girl in the head killing her...gotta be careful out there.

I feel for you east coast guys. When IKE blew thru here, my house was without power for 3 days, wifes house for about 24 hours. Just enough time for me to go get my generator 60 miles away and get back to her house. 5 minutes later it was back on. had to go to Kentucky for my grandmothers funeral 2 days later, more power outages up there than down here.

power was out about 2hrs, but i did get to use the chain saw, tow straps, and atv to clear some tree branches

Yeah, we've been trying to call our friends in NJ and all we get is a busy signal. But so far the fatality was not huge, but nevertheless still sad for those who lost their lives and also property.
