Ok, so I made the title is deliberately confusing on purpose.
What I hope for the new year is that I, and many others, will make 2013 a year to a more active doer of things to make our nation and world a better place.
We all have become accustomed to "checking the box" to donate to a good cause, or "text #123456 to donate $3" or to "add $1 to your Taco Bell bill" or whatever. We've all seen or used those ubiquitous magnetic ribbons of all sorts on cars.
Paying money to a good cause is certainly a nice thing. But even better would be to do good works also. A side effect is that by doing good works, I hope to make myself a better person.
I'm hoping that 2013 will be the year when I and many others will be actively, physically doing good things in our communities.
