    Re: RAGE'S transformation

You'll be better off buying a LS1 car and just keep the V6 as a DD.

Keep the v6 as is. Get it running right, fix all of its issues. Maybe put some lowering springs on it and 17-18" wheels amd leave it alone.

Save your money, but do not buy ANYTHING for your "drift project" for atleast a year, if not longer. This will give you plenty of time to get your car all squared away. If at that point you still want to build a drift car, buy an LS1/t56 car and build from there.

btw, I don't know where you got your facts, but your transmission will absolutely NOT bolt up to an LS1, regardless if it's a y87 car or not. Besides, you would be lucky to get a t5 to hold the power of a stock LS1 for any length of time anyway.

and as for the tranny your right it wont bolt up sorry about that haha

I dunno with the right suspension and tires you could probably drift with the stock V6. Lots of local guys drift with KA24s successfully.

i do want to drift the v6 but the car is heavy and not enough power to keep em spinning plus its an auto.

                    Stall it.
When I was stock and had the stall I could spin em really easy
Now with the turbo I spin even worse. Gut the pig. 240s owners gut the Hell out of their cars

well if i look at it in the long run its better to buy a ls1 ready trans am or a project thats not running. get it working and go from there and have my v6 as my daily driver. do some small mods lower it some rims . paint and interior fixes. and the motor will need to be rebuilt soon. its starting to burn oil .

Ehhh for me it was better as a 6. Cheap parts and way cheaper to replace a blown engine. After I boosted the bird I ran some Lsx powered vehicles and wasnt all that impressed with them considering I was running on a basic tune and with a lot more room for growth. Hell I'm still running on the stock fuel pump .___.

but i need enough hp to make the car slide across the asphalt lol lets say it makes 270, idk if that will be enough?

Idk about that. 240's with the ka24des have about 140HP and they manage to "drift"
Its more dependent on your suspension. Horsepower would just make it easier to loose traction and initiate the drift.

You should get in contact with anyone that auto-x their fbody and see how their sixxer handles the corners
