    yea but those 240 also weigh about 2500 lbs the way their gutted. and how i dont know any one lol

      Theres a few over at FTV6. If I remember correctly the v8's were only about 2-7 seconds faster than some of the 6's

      • You can easily drift with the six, if you're open diff it only really works well going left lol but still I can easily have alot of sliding fun stock with 245s on the rear. Ill bet its going to be wicked easy when I get my 373s and torsen in :)

          just buy a 240 with a blown motor and drop a lt1 or 5.3 motor in it. you'll spend way to much for a car that will still suck nuts at drifting trying to do it in a fbody.

          current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

            but i want to be differen not just like the next guy in kine thats into drifting and get the common drifting cars

              being different cost alot of money, especially for someone thats never done it before.

              current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

                extra set if rims and tires-1000

                headers-500

                cat back--500

                intake-50

                thats ....:work:....13500...

                oh snap.... ok but any ways some one please corect me if i am wrong on the estimates but to me so far it looks cheaper to just get the v8

                  update ... tomorow i will be doing the axle seal repair/replacement and this is the list i got of stuff

                  i have the limited slip diff so i have 75w-90 3 quarts

                  high temp wheel Bering greese

                  2 axle seals brand- master pro

                  high temp silicone sealer for the diff cover
                  and thread lock for that one bolt i have to remove.

                  and all the tools needed, such as a impact, tool set, jack, jack stands, towels, and gojo. i think thats it
                  does all this sound right. i dont want to start it and have stuff missing

                    now the mods would be

                    lowering springs -350

                    sway bars-500

                    pan hard bar-150

                    brakes up grade- 600

                    plus extra set of rims and tires- 1000

                    cam build- 700 ?

                    headers-250

                    cat back- 600?

                    intake-150

                    You gotta learn to look for parts I bought most of my parts used
                    Most of my suspension I bought from this site Lcas,lca relocation brackets panhard rod for about 200

                    And you would also want to rebuild the formulas engine if you were to get it, since when you drift you give the engine a lot of abuse and I bet it was already abused to start with.

                      i would rather buy new, imo its better sway bars, pa bar, rims, headers, those i would buy used but anything else no.

                        You know theres a lot of people that buy everything necessary for a cam swap and never install it, then they end up selling it for half price. You got to look out for stuff like that. I joined grand prix forums and ls1 forums just because that gives you more variety when having to buy parts.

                            ok guys today. i replaced the seal. but i was all for nothing. take a look , did not take step by step pictures but heres what i got

                            and from there it just became a bigger pudle. :mad:

                            i knew this was going to happen since i saw alot of metal shavings in the axle housing

                            but anyways guys heres what i did .

                            1.jacked her up and put it on jacks. on the body not the rear end.

                            2.next removed your tires and then brakes and rotors

                            3 remover the diff cover. and you will see this.

                              once you have done 3

                              4. turn the drive shaft to let the differential turn untill you see this.

                              5.remove the bolt you see above .

                              and this shoild fall out

                              6. once that is done go to the drivers side axle and turn it and push until the axle moves forward, if it does not work the give the differential another spin. until it happens. once it pops in this horse shoe clip should fall out

                              7. do the same for the passengers side , the the axle shaft should just slide out

                                8.so. now those are out of the way and now you have this left , which is the seal.
                                as you can see i tried to hammer it out. the trick is get a pair of pliers and break the edge. once that is done use a flat head with a hammer and pry it out.

                                9.next get your new seal, and just hammer it on slowly.

                                10. now just pack the Bering with grease

                                11.(might need help)put the axles back in and make them pop back in all the way just like when you removed them and the horse shoe clips fell out. only that this time , when it pops in go in the differential and put the clips back on. (they go on the ends of the shaft, it has a grove for them)and pull the axles out they should not come out any more. do this for both axles.

                                12. next put this back exactly as you removed it.
