I think I know why this car is so much more bland...it's stock, I'm used the cam and a nice stall converter I would work. I'm used to when I look around when driving all eyes are on the car-everywhere. Pulling into a gas station and everyone staring. I mean, I don't need the attention but I do kinda miss it. As nice as the new SOM car is, it hasn't turned a single head

I need an MS3 in this thing, I miss my lopey idle.

When my car sounds like this I'll be happy again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GpzCrzT7iQ
You want stares, drive a H/C LS with dumps or cut outs and all eyes will be on you.

Your neighbors will think the world is coming to an end;)

My neighbors were glad when I got rid of my cammed LT1,I had several come up and tell me it was real loud especially at night.

They like the sound of my stock 2010 SS they think its just right.

My LT catless stalled 99TA draws a few eyebrows, wait till I cam it next year:)

I might have to give you a buzz next time I'm in the niagara area and have you take me for a quick spin in the TA if you don't mind. I'd like to see how the 3600 stall responds in these cars. Half the info I am getting says stay small with the v8 and that it doesn't need nearly as much as what the v6 did; the other half says go big or you'll regret it.

I need to do the rear main in this car so I've been looking at the Yank SS3600 stall that you have.

        No problem Mike LMK when.

Don't get a 3200 or smaller you will regret it.

3600,3800 and 4000 have been run successfully on DD LS1 4th gens.

I went with a FTI 3600 also make sure to get a 9" triple disc name brand lock up.

I bought mine used from a guy going to a TH400 set up.

          Re: WTF- my deal

Triple disc allows you the option of lockup during shifts without worrying about breaking it?

I thought you had an Yank SS?

And ya I will, I might shoot down Sunday over to the US, I'll be doing a few trips down though in the next few weeks, so no major rush. I really just want to see how the car responds while driving around town- I know what WOT is like

Because other than for weight roll ups suck:poke:

Besides if you own a 4th Gen F car you have to be a bit of a masochist anyway;)

                BTW DS is next:p:p

Believe it or not its not the motor, they used too light a guage of wire and the motor overheats.

Watch how slow the widows go if you run both at once.

I was thinking more along the lines of nitro-methane...you know, change it up, keep it fresh and still street legal :stp:

Man, who in Gods name designed these stupid plugs wires for these cars. 3 hours changing my spark plugs today and I got 6/8. Last two plugs on the passenger side I can't get to...I'm debating if I remove the AIR tube if it will even be possible.

I have a major blister on my hand from rubbing against the manifold trying to get the 2nd last plug wire off- I swear it is super glued on.

The only upside I see to working on this thing so far is that it "appears" that installing a cam is a joke compared to the 3800. Looks like all you need to remove is the front cover and radiator- intake manifold can stay put which is cool.

One thing I gotta question though, why does the v8 have a powersteering cooler in it and not the v6's? I mean the motor is like 30-40lbs heavier than the 6, was that really the tipping point?

Pretty sure that was an SS option only. Owner probably bought and installed or got it extra.

The two previous owners with this car definetly didn't do anything lol. Car was bone stock right down to the air filter. The Steering cooler is in the RPO code for this particular car- but it's not an SS

It's actually a little annoying as it runs across the top of the radiator on the driver side and makes getting to things a little tougher

Well if the RPO code is on the sticker then I must be wrong. That's pretty cool you have one, always wanted to splice one in on the Camaro, but never got around to it. hell maybe I'll put one in on my GTO, pretty sure I still have it sitting in the garage.
