A local dealership had a nice 95 Z28 sitting on the lot so on my day off I took it out for a quick run. I liked the low end Torque but honestly if you own a 3.8 it's not that much of an upgrade. Id rather keep the V6 and build it up but I suppose its an easier option for those who want something less complicated to just get a V8 vs Boosting a V6 engine. Driving around town without getting on it felt exactly the same minus the engine noise.

The only way i see myself upgrading to one is if I can get on a nice WS6 T/A for about or under 2k. Before anyone says go drive an LS1 car, I already did and was not pleased with it...If I ever went LS1 it would have to be in another car that's not an Fbody such as a C5 Corvette at least or a kitcar.

Ultimately I see myself getting into a C4 Corvette if I get a V8 in the near future especially the ZR1 if I can find a decent one for under 15k. I drove one and feel in love with the LT5. The next car I'm looking to take out for a joy ride is an LT1 Corvette here shortly.

I don't wish to rip into ya but I feel the need to state that, there's a considerable difference between the Seat of Pants feel of an LT1 vs a L32 - Even my 3.8 Firebird with 3.42 gears did NOT give me that feeling (stock). Yea if you mod and turbo it, different story, but stock they're not very comparable.

As for the LS1, I actually WILL agree that when I first got my 2001 Camaro Z28 years back, it did NOT feel faster than my V6. It felt pretty similar but I quickly learned the difference in top-end power. When the V6 is out of steam, the LS1 is only warming up. Also most A4 LS1's have those crappy 2.73 gears so it makes it FEEL like a slouch but they're still much much faster than L32's

I forgot about that. I was in a M6 and that was a beast!! But my bro's LS1 with a few upgrades like intake and exhaust made a HUGE difference, where that stuff did nothing for my V6.
