It happened somewhat close to where I live. Not sure if it happened this afternoon.

    RIP Paul Walker

Wow...I was just looking for the first Fast and the Furious movie too...I don't know what he was doing to have lost control, but I'm sure it was something better saved for a race track.

    RIP Brian O'Connor

I had the same thought too. Pretty sad. He was a child actor from the late 80's. I wonder if they are still going to be able to continue filming Fast and Furious 7?

Article said he was a passenger in a friends car so the friend was probably trying to do a stunt

God speed to him...I thought it was a hoax when I first heard/read it. I enjoyed all the F&F movies (except Tokyo drift- which he wasn't in) He really made those movies enjoyable. I don't think I watched any of his movies outside of those, but you never like to hear things like this. It's a sad day, and really, with the way the car scene is headed, there will likely never be a movie series/ movie like F&F again.

Idk, I haven't read anything today on it, but the few articles I read yesterday said he was taking turns giving his friends rides in his new Porsche. Supposedly there was a report he had died in a car crash on Friday too that turned out to be a hoax with impossibly bad timing...

            Edit:
I just read where his agents or publicist whatever said he was a passenger in a friends car. Not driving his own.

ya, all the major newspapers around here have picked it up, so I am assuming it is real.

The only thing that still has me questioning it, is usually the news whenever anyone crashes will have more information, like was speed a factor, reckless driving, drugs/alchol, etc, they will have information on how/why the crash happened for any joe blow.

With this story it is he was a passenger, Porsche crashed into a pole caught fire, then they just go into his acting career and say he is preceded by his daughter.

The report seems very vague to me, especially considering it is high profile...the flipside to that is, if it was fake, you think he would have contacted someone already..

They also say that his friend that was driving was a professional race car driver as well... Of all people, a pro driver and celebrity car enthusiast, you'd think that this wouldn't have happened.

That's the problem, so many people get caught in that mentality...anything can happen to anyone at anytime. Roads are not the same as a race track anyways, potholes and uneven surfaces cause a shift in weight transfer and can easily make you loose control depending on what you are doing...

This is true. I know here there are several potholes around here that if you are unaware of their location and severity, it can cause damage or a sudden change in direction. I agree, at the end of the day, it could have happened to anyone, regardless of any driving conditions or situations..

Yeah, I agree with you guys. The News is very vague. One article say he was coming from a fund raising charity event that he spearheaded along with his F&F crews to raise money for the typhoon victims in the Philippines and another say was coming from an movie shoot.

There was also a Honda S2000 close at the scene. Not sure what to think.

Re: Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker dead

So apparently the autopsy report said Walker survived the impact but died from a mix of impact and thermal injuries

also, apparently the crash happened moments after they left the event, and a loud explosion like sound was heard immediatly before they heard the crash.

It also came out that those "donut tire marks" were done by a vehicle with smaller tires, not the porsche

Well, the guy probably lived more of a life than anyone reading this board...he had it all, something most of us will never have. He was lucky to have an exciting life.
