For anyone who missed it, harbor freight recalled 450+ thousand jack stands due to the ability to collapse and seriously injure or kill the individual under the car.
Be safe and work smart. If this applies to jack stands you bought don’t use them! We need all of you on the forum!
I have a older set and just bought some new ones in January from HF, what do I do with them? I always use a Jack with the jack stands so I should be good.

Not sure Steve. I would say not to use them and get in touch with Harbor Freight to see if it is a swap or refund that you get for them.
If you call/email and find out any information from them be sure to update us here.

I read about that the other day. When I jack up mine and place the stand underneath I still leave the jack in. I never felt secure with just the stand, especially with the firebird. You don't have a prayer when that thing falls on you.
About 8 years ago, my aunt who separated from my uncle asked me if I could change the oil on her Camry. My uncle was a mechanic and he left his tools behind to be with his mistress. So I didn't think about bringing my own tools, jack and stands. Well when I got there, my cousin's boyfriend took all of my uncle's tools so he could work on his classic beetle. I have no choice but to use the jack that came with the car. Stupid me, I should have known better.
When I was finished with the oil change and I was underneath and tightening the drain plug, I saw the jack tilting to the side. I moved as fast as I could to get out from underneath the car, but I was too late. The car landed on my chest and knocked the air out of me. I almost passed out. Anyway I benched pressed and wiggled myself out. That was probably one of the scariest moments of my life.
Yeah that’s pretty crazy Edgar, your lucky, yeah I always leave the jack with the jack stands. Even with my truck ramps I still use jack stands. Just don’t trust anything.

You are lucky to be alive... most people never live to tell that story when it happens.
If I don’t keep my Jack under mine I will put the wheel or cinder block or something underneath by the frame. That way if something should fail it won’t crush me enough to kill me.
