  • some not so good news? (CARFAX NEEDED)

ok, so the place who tinted my windows notified me that the camaro i bought used from the dealer in january had been in an accident. he said the whole front end was redone, and poorly at that (things not lining up properly)

the dealer i got it from told me there was no accident in its history, and they printed out a carfax when i bought it

the carfax was missing 1 page (they said it was blank)

do i have a case here? ca i get them to dish over some money to fix it properly? or what

can anyone here get me a full carfax report?

    thanks

the carfax the dealer gave me was incomplete, so i am assuming the page they "accidently" left out, was the page i need

just wanna see what carfax says b4 i do anything else

if you messed up a car and payed for it in cash instead of making a claim with insurance it would not show on a carfax right? maybe that is what happened

that may be, but they may also have deliberately shown it to me, which is what im tryin to find out

the carfax they printed and faxed it to me, i got 2 pages, and the top of it said there were 3 pages

so, if they left it out deliberately... what else did they leave out...

something related to my gas mileage also possibly?

if you get it on your own, and it doesnt match what they sent you, you have a case. if you get it on your own, and it doesnt show a accident/repair either... no case

I added "carfax needed" to the title of this thread, if anyone has free carfax for this month... they'll stop by

Even if it not in the report doesn’t car fax have some sort of buy back guarantee?

carfax has a buy back gaurantee, but if the dealer left out a page, thats not carfax's fault. I think the only case "you may have" is once you get another carfax, if it does say it was wrecked, talk to the dealer first explain your situation, if they say tough luck. Go talk to a lawyer and see if you have a case. Or stand on the side of the street by the car lot with a big sign that says "BUY A CAR FROM LIARS" or something to that effect. lol
If the carfax comes back clear, saying there wasn't an accident you can try to go through carfax but I'm not sure it'd work now.

CarFax is not accurate. CarFax gave my car a clean bill of health when I bought it, but when my insurance lady ran the VIN it came back with 3 claims on it, one was a $1500 collision claim.

I had a 1992 Dodge Shadow that I had since it was new. I wrecked it in 1994. I ran its vin in 2001 when I bought my 1999 Camaro (just since I had CarFax I looked at it since I was just curious) and the $3200 in damage that was repaired did not show up on CarFax.

I just hear stories like this all the time about CarFax. Two of them are my own personal experience.

I wouldn't even bother with CarFax.

                            thats the truth....

for what its worth if the car isn't giving you problems don's sweat it... My 94 was almost totaled, in 95(which means ~$10k+ in damage...

car never gave me any serious problems not caused by me...

guy I sold it too currently has 150k on it.
