I got a ticket about a month ago for ... get this ... no front plate! The cop was an @$$hole and was pissed cuz I was giving him attitude when he was trying to kick us (about 150 cars, the majority with no front plate) out of the local 'car hang out' spot. Anywho, he made it a moving violation (a $75 ticket) and took my license as bond or whatever. So, I took pics of my car with the front plate on (ductaped of course, I'm not putting a front plate on!) and I'm hoping they will just drop the stupid ticket. Wish me luck!!

The @$$ was blocking my car in, and he kept yelling at me to get in my car and leave ... but I couldn't go anywhere!! moving violation has to do with your driving, not how your car looks, or how its working...
maybe im just dumb ?

Im sick of everyone being so ****ing high and mighty about getting tickets. We've all gotten them and no one likes when they get one. Stop scolding everyone who posts here about getting one. You just look like a huge douche bag when you do.Comment

Sorry to say this.... but the cop was right for giving out a ticket for it.
Most likely the car hang out was private property.
Lots of cars = trouble.
No front plate, ticket material.
In nj we have to run a front plate.
We have a huge street racing scene just over the border and cars from rumored 7 second cars to bone stock cars.
Too much sh*t (being illegal stuff) occurs up there.

I've gotten two tickets for no front plates while I was parked downtown. I really don't mean to be a dick, but come on. You're upset that you got a ticket for something that you actually did? Everyone in Illinois knows that state law requires a front plate. If you don't have one, you take your chances. It's not like having one makes your car look dumb, most modern cars are designed with a place to put one on. If your F-bod doesn't have a spot to mount it, your dealer will give you one CHEAP.
I'll grant that it's kind of bogus to wait until you pull out onto the street and then ticket you while you're moving, but if you were giving him attitude I can absolutely understand why he did it.
No one likes getting tickets and we all rant when we get 'em. But don't blame the cop for the fact that you knowingly broke a state law.Comment
