and then i don't want to hear anymore b*tching. this could just as easily be me one day. it could even be that alleged "a-hole officer" who wrote you the ticket the other day.

those officers went in after one of their own knowing they would be in danger of taking rifle fire at very close range. they did not know exactly where the shooter was. the officer was responding to a domestic disturbance. he died of the wounds.

    I watched it....
To my knowledge..... there had to be sometime of shootout and an officer was shot.

They tried their best to get him to the ambulence.

Drove ME nuts to see soo many vehicles in the way... and I wans't there!

Then, that damn photographer... I wanted to beat him to hell when I saw him taking the pic's... then someone went over to him.

    It is like a brotherhood.

I know how it is on the fire department... we stick together.

    I support the officers fully.

Ok, you updated your first post.

I would do the same on the fire department. No hesitations.

My uncle's partner was shot in the face by a 15 year old kid. The 15 year old was being searched outside his home and pulled a gun and shot him. My uncle shot the kid twice in the chest and the kid lived. Unfortunately my uncle's partner wasn't so lucky and spent 2 years in the hospital and can only get around in a wheel chair and is horribly disfigured. Cops put their lives on the line for the rest of us everyday. Just because one is being a dick doesn't mean you shouldn't respect them as a group. It may be a police officer that saves your life some day.

The police are the most visible form of government in communities all across the U.S. and around the world. They are the streetlights on roadways, stop signs at intersections, watchdogs of small neighborhoods, padlocks on shed, and security systems on unlocked vehicles. They are the gatekeepers to the criminal justice system, the doorway to what is supposed to be keeping this nation in line.
Police Officers are a different breed and a different culture of the American society. They cluster in groups among each other, at points and in areas, as outcasts from the community. An Officer puts on the uniform and the badge and, whether on duty or not, they become transformed into something other than human – they become a police officer for life.

I remember seeing those things ... things like that ... It's always just "In the Line of Duty" training videos and stuff ... mostly officer safety. You're supposed to watch all these other officers ... these brothers in blue and brown ... sisters and friends ... you're supposed to watch them get shot and sometimes killed from the camera on their own cruiser ... and you're supposed to learn how not to do what they did.

But you really don't understand how important those lessons are ... how important officer survival is ... until you come slowly around a corner and hear the sound of a 22 scream by you head ... until you hear that tone and unit 221 calls the 10-code to clear the air ... and you show up late because the traffic wouldn't move ... you get there and can't do anything to help ... you know that someone needs you to be doing anything ... you're powerless and waiting for something will just put you to work ... to take your mind off what you just realized ... that last night ... you were unit 221.
