I took a Cobalt LS (base model except for automatic, spoiler, and cruise control) for a test drive today because the local dealer only has some LS's and I'm home for the weekend, and I really like it. Much nicer than the Focus I drove for a friend a while back. I think I'm pretty set on it.

      Not a bad car, IMO...

      Remember, guys... not everyone really wants a performance car... my mom doesn't even like the sportier appearance package on the Mazda 6... she was going to get one, but she wanted the plain-Jane mom-looking car...

          </font>
How can you not drive FWD that well? It's A LOT more foriving then RWD, especially in inclimant weather.

          FWD sucks for performance, but for street driving, its fine.

            i guess its all about the understeer. or just how the cars are different inside and your driving posture is different (really goes for any car other than an fbody.)

            my camaro is really the only car i've ever driven more than once. so i guess its what im used to.

            didnt like the ninety eight, mazda 3, cherokee, or the explorer

              Yea, most FWDs are setup to understeer. To cure that problem, just take your foot off the gas. Weight will transfer back to the front wheels, and fix the understeer.

                  Yea,Thats what Ive been driveing for the past month and a half..The rentacar people gave me one cuz its the cheapist car they have.. I hate it, but im sure its due to the fact I'm spoiled driveing the camaro,and my receint auto,trans am, But I will say this, If you like front wheel drive,and don't mind the dorky look,then its okay,but it does got alittle spunk in the throtle..like someone else said,the inside is boreing and lame. but i'm sur for the price,its allright...

                          Yeah, the one we're looking at has the spoiler. It's a color called Blue Granite. I liked it once I saw it in person, and it's a normal color that's not girly, not too flashy, and shouldn't show dirt easily.

                          I might have the Cobalt for a few days being that my dad might come get me at school, so I'm going to try to drop my car off at the dealer there and keep the new one with me until it's fixed. My warranty is up the 15th and I want to have some stuff looked at one last time, so this is good timing.

                            I've seen the blue ones, too. They look good. Not a bad car at all. Like this one?

                            From that angle, it looks a bit high up and doesn't meet well with the ground... but it doesn't look as bad in person, and beats the hell out of scraping on everything...
