• I almost forgot how uncomfortable my camaro is.

Well, been driving my tahoe for gotta be 5or 6 months now, got the 22's on it and was mad that I lost ride quality. I got over it, just today I put insurance back on the camaro for an autox coming up this sunday. I get in it and damn! I hate driving it! its stiff, no visibility, you have to slow down for bumps, I'm afraid of parking it anywhere. ITS ENDLESS! I used to think of the car as being beautiful, now I look at my truck that way. The thought of selling it actually came through my mind today. Now theres the things I dont miss, like blistering the tires and being able to go around a corners like a champ. But I dont think thats adds up enough to drive one everyday. Has anyone else had the same experience? or am I just really grumpy and mad at everything, including my pride and joy which took like 3 years to get it the way I want?

same here I love driving my camaro. I work at a shop and get to drive a lot of different types of car and I don't see how firebird guys can drive those cars. Man its so alien compared to my camaro I can't even stand it even tho they are fundamentaly the same it just feels so weired. Maybe it was the way the seat was positioned or something but man that felt weird.

        I enjoy it...

whats funny is I have a hard time driving trucks... Like it feels wierd to park them they seem to bulky and the turn radius feels fecked up. I am weary to park in between other vehicles. I am just used to the bulk of a car being more in the front not the rear. I'd probably get over it quickly but I only drive a truck rarely, I'm gonna get my bro's truck for like a week to help me move, in a few months that should be fun, full size 4 door dodge ram

I rented a Monte Carlo when I was up in Chicago for like 5 days in January, and it was nice wouldn't mind owning one, but nothing special(nice trunk though)

I read a magazine article that gave firebird/camaro driver comfort2 out of 5 stars???

I like my seats, I'm not trying to bee thug, but I lean my seat way back, becasue I'm a big guy, and I can't just look over my shoulder for the blind spot.

But I've always actually looked out the window, but then most of the time I'm going so fast I don't need to check the blind spot.

The only time I ever wish I had my suv back is on the walmart parking lot, I think they make the speed bumps bigger every week.

I've gotten used to not feeling good after riding in my camaro, and girls complaining its hard to get out of. In my opinion, Ford made the mustang a lot more comfortable for passengers and as a daily driver, thats why I am done with f-bodies after this last camaro. I will be purchasing a Mustang because IMO, they are easier to get in and out of, the ride quality is better and passengers (girls) don't ***** about that stupid cat hump.

Don't know how many years down the road that will be, I've only got 108k on mine and its wearing great. I maintain it very well.

I have a 2002 Dodge 1500 Quad cab and the Firebird (we also have my wifes company car, Dodge Intrepid, and my wifes 2003 C5 Vette but I seldom drve either of those). I have had about 10 different trucks through the years but only 2 cars. I had a 1976 V8 Firebird in college and my 2001 I drive now. I love to drive trucks but for the past 3 1/2 years the bird has been my daily drive. I love driving the firebird. I hate getting in and out of it but that is not that big of a deal. The car is very comfortable and I love the stick shift. I drive 70 miles a day to and from work and I really enjoy the drive. On days I drive the Ram, I miss the firebird. I love my car!

I know exactly how you feel man... There's a night and day difference between the comfort of a full size truck and an f-body. The only thing I find fun about riving the Z any more is the power and the t-tops - and I don't even use the power any more. I cant' do anything with it, it's not comfortable, I can't drive it half the year, I can't tow anything or haul anything (well except a$$ :D ) with it, it's cramped, in the front seats and really cramped in the back seats, I'm constantly worried about other drivers pulling out in front of me or rear ending me, it has no ground clearance so I scrape driveway ramps, etc, etc, etc. All of these are concerns that a nice big truck will take care of for me - I just can't bring myself to get rid of it yet.

I'm looking at getting a Diesel truck and BOMBing it mildy. It'll do everything I want and need, be fast enough for me (low 14's) and I can put a sunroof in it. The only thing I couldn't do in that that I could do in the Z28 is 160mph, and I have no interest in doing that anyway.

I know what your say'n too. when i had the firebird i couldnt imagine wanting to drive anything else. But once i got the truck... i dont have much desire to have another fbody. Trucks just so big and comfortable. Its a nice change to get in the vette on nice sunny weekends, but i dont think i'd want to drive it as a daily driver either.

I drove my mother's Grand Cherokee around here for a while, and now that its winter in the mountains I kick myself just about everyday for selling it.

ehh... only time I ever had a serious gripe about f-bodies was in highschool...

After football practice and weight training... I'd drive home, park, try and get out and just have my leg give out and just fall on the ground and lay there, staring at the sky thinking.

Only two gripes I have about the f-body... ground clearance, don't mind scraping stuff but know of numerous time I wanted to hop a curb. I can hop alot of curbs with it, but not all of them With a truck I can.

2nd is hauling people/stuff... granted most people don't like my driving habits anyways but wish I had a trunk. you can chuckwhatever in a trunk and you don't have to see or thingk about it, can't get away with much in the dip in the hatch area. Like say I wanna take my 3 tool boxes somewhere they just don't fit right back there. A normal car trunk woudl be fine.

But ehh... I get over it because I love to fly around a corner fast, throw a downshift, kick the tail out and go down the road fast. Hell even just cruising normal speeds I enjoy it.

That's the draw back of having a sports car. Have you ever riden in a Porche. It is alot more uncomfortable than the F-body. Especially in the back seat, if you even consider it a back seat. If you are a guy with wide shoulders, it is cram. But which one would you rather have.

My SUV is more comfortable to drive. But for the fun factor, the Firebird is a plus. Besides, I get more compliments and props for it. Never heard that on the SUV and not much on the truck.

When I close the door, I can really tell what I'm in for.

I get compliments in my truck, but its usually either other truck drivers, or chicks... so not all bad i guess ;)

I mean it could be, but I have no interest in it, its been 3 months since I've been as fast as 90mph, speed just isnt my thing anymore. I think thats why I have the neglect for the camaro, because thats all its really good for, that and showing off, which I dont do. and curb hoping! I can barely back out of a driveway without scraping the **** out of my gfx, the truck however, I never have to wait for a green turn signal, just go over the curb. I dunno, you win some you lose some I guess. Maybee if it was sunny out and my chrome was shining Id be happier to get in the car. But then again I have more chrome on my truck. I think Im just grumpy, oh well. but the car is definatley uncomfortable. compared to a full size. oh ya, and I hate looking at navigators and seeing them as giants. I WANNA BE THE GIANT!
