At the moment at the house i only have 1 pc and it just so happens im stuck with the one that cant browse websites. This sucks what good is a pc if you cant search things?

I have a dsl connection and on the little icon next to the clock it says "limited or no connectivity" so i hit the repair button and it says that it failed to renew the IP address.

SO i think hmm ok ill just manually do it so i open up the command promt and release all the IP's and i try to get new ones but it gives me an error something like it failed and was unable to give me an IP addy.

It will give me a subnet mask but no ip or default gateway.

When i DO try to browse a site it says page can not be displayed, i was thinking it has something to do with the DNS?

    Any help is appreciated.

So you're computer is connected directly to your DSL modem? How long have you had this problem? Have you called your ISP to see if its a problem on their end?

2wire is not good because since it is a router/modem combo it is really hard to repair if one part breaks. i would bersonally stay away from it. plus all my coworkers told me the same thing (i work at a pc tech shop)

I haven't had any probs w/teh 2Wire, plus since I don't thow it against the wall, it doesn't brake.

                      YES,

i have a feeling it has to do with a file or something in the windows system.
