  • Whoohoo! (just back from the driveline shop)

Went to Dan's Driveline today to have my open diff swapped for a LSD and I also found a few interesting things!

    1) Previous owner installed Richmond 3.73 gears.
    2) Previous owner didn't tighten down pinion yoke nut, or was loosening on its own.
    3) Pinion bearings were shot.

So. 700 dollars later, I've got a Zexel Torsen T-2 Diff and fresh bearings/seals all around.

Am I happy? Yes. Only took them a few hours to get everything done.

Burnout pics coming? Oh yes. Gotta get rid of those Kumho 712s somehow. XD

Diff, rebuild kit, hot tank and sandblast and paint, plus labor.

      That's normally 1100-1200 bucks.

Edit: and labor rates in this town is killer.

          No I couldn't.

My Chevelle has 2.89s, and my truck had 3.42s. The Camaro felt closer to the truck, so I had assumed I had 3.23s or 3.42s. *shrugs* The guys at the driveline shop asked me the same thing, I told em I've only owned the car for a few months.
