Now if this were anyone else, they'd be arrested for creating a virus.

I read about this on cnn the other day. Apparently the guy who discovered it said he had to do some serious work in his registry to get his computer to work properly after he uninstall all of sony's crap. The whole fact that a virus could be hidden because of this really pisses me off because you know some dork is taking a break from playing quake 4 and writting a virus to take advantage right now.
seriously, ill never buy a sony product again. i dont care what they make or what band is on their label. thats it. how can they possibly be trusted to produce a safe product again? whats stopping them from doing this agian only in a way that is harder to trace? hell, it took us, what, 8 months to find this attack? shame on sony. I truly hope that the general public realizes what theyve done. a month long or year long boycott of all sony products might teach them a lesson, or hopefully financially cripple this repugnant corporation..

All this conspiracy talk reminds me. A lot of printers leave a tracking code on everything they print out so the document can be traced back to a user. Just remember that next time you print out a ransom note or a paper bad mouthing uncle sam. Here's a list of what the EFF found.
Haha, I haven't bought a CD for about 5 years now..
