    It kinca sounds like what they did to the camaro firebird.

    When sales suck, instead of doing a good redesign, they decide to kill it and focus on the good selling cars.

    I like the celica and MR2. For some reason I thought they had already killed the MR2.

      That's exactly why they did decide to kill it. No one wanted to buy a 140hp roadster for $25k and up when a Miata was cheaper and faster. I do agree, though, that maybe instead of killing off these models Toyota should have redesigned them or introduced new powertrains. Putting a quality V6 in the Celica or a nice forced-induction motor in the MR2 probably could've saved either line if Toyota could've done it without raising price significantly
