93 firebird Grand national swap progress

This is a picture of the engine compartment after we pulled the stock 3.4 out of my firebird.

Found the motor on one of the buick boards that i now frequent ALOT. for the engine, tranny and computer for $1300. Had to buy a stock turbo for $50, Wiring harness for $125. Rebuilt the engine and it had to be bored out .060 over so i needed new pistons, and i put in a comp cams 212/212 cam. Got a 3200 stall converter for $100 from a friend. Currently looking for a bigger turbo something in the te60 range for low - mid 11's Still have to buy a big intercooler and a new radiator. Should be making the motor mounts this weekend, which turns out will not be hard at all. Delaware is about 20 miles north of columbus

Did you make a custom K-member to fit that? Or are you just going to fabricate the new motor mounts to the existing one?

we are just going to use the existing motor mount location which is on the bottom of the shock tower. it should be fairly simple to do the mounts, the hardest part will be getting the motor straight and level. Also all of the engine is going to be sitting behind the k-member except for the timing cover which will probably be right over top of it and then the oil filter will hang in front of the k-member.

Wow, yeah keep us posted. They said it wouldn't fit because of the heads. It looks like a perfect fit.

no but we are going to be working on motor mounts this weekend so i will get some more detailed photos to show you guys that the normal GN heads will work. the only probem that i can see is on the passenger side we have to put the downpipe somewhere, that will be just aboutthe only tricky part.

Here are some new pics of the motor mounts sorry it took so long but w got distracted by another project and had to put my car on hold for a few weeks.

Here is the Passenger side mount, and as you can see the downpipe will be close to the strut tower.

Here is an upclose shot of the Passenger mount. it is made of 3/8" plate steal and then there is 1" square stock on top of that for added strangth. the drivers side is the same style i just couldnt get a good pic of it cause some stuff was in the way.

my guess is that is the engine block but i dont see the heads on it. im dumb
