You say shes away at school, are you still in high school? You might be playing anchor here.

I'm about a year and a half older than her, I'll be 21 this summer, she just turned 19. I go to school locally...I did my stint in binghamton for a few semesters then came home to get down to business. So far this weekend she's been pretty good. We'll see how it goes...she's weird...

Sounds like if you were away for a while, she may have found someone else on the side...

Thats what my dad's fiance said may have happened. I'm safely saying there is pretty much no chance of that. We talk so much and all that she really accounts for all of her time with much ease. It'd be hard for her to have someone else and act the way she does.

Anyways, as for an update. She came home this weekend and it was pretty good, we were ok. However, we talked about stuff and it ended up today that i told her we should take a break for the next two weeks. Not like see other people, in fact we both made sure with each other that that wasn't the case. From what she said I really think she just needs to be on her own without worrying about me for a little while. She's got some things she needs to work out. I think it'll benefit me too. I just hope she gets her head out of her a** and starts to treat me right. I generally treat my girlfriends amazing but i treat her above and beyond. I'd do anything for her. Oh well, sorry to bore u....

She sounds a lot like me when I was in college. Going away to school can be overwhelming for some people. Maybe she just isn't handling school well. She could be struggling with her social life at school, her classwork, her roomate.....anything. I don't know her or the full situation, but long distance relationships are always a challenge and being away at school is challenging. I held on to a long-distance relationship for 3 years of my college life and then the guy dumped me 6 months before I was suppose to move back home for good! Obviously, I am no longer a supporter of long-distance relationships.

Wow, thats rough camarogirl. Thats why I told my girlfriend to make sure that she would be ok at home without me. I don't want her to resent me if it isn't perfect or if we end up broken up. I think if we did break up after this break, it wouldn't be from left field in either of our eyes. Its been a hard fight keeping it going while shes away. I just feel I've really tried to support her and make it all easy on her and in the process forgot about myself. I feel like most girls want a guy like me, why should I be with the one who doesn't care? We'll see how these next two weeks go, but i feel semi relieved. Where did you go to school? And how far from your ex?

I was 2 hours from him. I drove home almost every weekend to see him and I busted my butt all week at school so I could get a good job when I finshed school. And like I said, he broke up with me. I think I spent so much time and energy trying to make sure everything would be perfect for us when I finished school that I didn't see how we were both changing. The years of 18-21 are when most people are trying to figure out exactly who they are and what they want out of life. My bf and I were growing apart and I just didn't see it.

dude, thats exactly what I've been starting to think. It seems that she is changing into a more self centered person only wanting to make her life better for the future...not ours together and I've spent the past year trying to make it great for both of us. Either that or maybe I read her wrong in the first place. I've always considered myself fairly mature so even in the beginning when she was still in high school it was kinda weird for me. I just viewed her as more mature than most girls her age...I guess I didn't realize her maturity then wouldn't matter when deciding on her future now, up at school. I really care about her, but I almost feel another girl may fit my needs better. I feel I may even find someone with more of the same interests...I really don't know and I'm probably just as confused as her.

BTW, Amen to the 2 hours of driving every weekend...I practically knew the toll collectors by first name....

We're very dedicated and its almost over because she is coming home in september, but its like issues other than the distance that are giving us a hard time...

I was in a long distance relationship but instead of 7 1/2 hours it was 1400 miles. We talked for a few months and I drove down to FL from NY to see her during christmas and fell in love with eachother. Then I had to go back to NY for a month and I moved back down for school. Needless to say she is the most loving and trustworthy girl I have ever been with.

Well confront her about it and if she puts up a fit leave her, find someone that appreaciates it.
