I wouldn't even consider that trade. I used to work for a Lincoln-Mercury-Dodge dealership, and there were 2 or 3 times as many neons come back (still under warranty) as anything else. One of the worst cars on the road IMO.

step 1) Buy a potentially fast Firebird with problems
step 2) Have your Dad keep your entire family informed on the Firebird's progress
step 3) Drive to family gatherings in a purple neon
step 4) Watch the looks on family member's faces when you tell them you got rid of the Firebird for that "purple torque monster in the drive."
