I've noticed that I get followed or pulled over more in the camaro than in the corvette. I think when they see the corvette they might assume it is prolly some older guy just cruising, but when they see the camaro(with college parking thing) I think they may see some kid to follow or whatever.

Curiously I have only received one ticket, and that was in the corvette...my bad...45 in a 35 ($65).

Not necessarily. It depends on the area you live in. If someone lives in a rich suburb, and goes for a ride-along with their local PD..their eyes will most likely not be open by that. It would mostly be calls for false house alarms going off,,and maybe some traffic violations. Ride along in a high crime area..and that's different..

Cops usually dont aim for sports cars unless you are speeding. They aim for beaters and junk cars with no lights and plates with Pablo driving. Think about it... you pull over a corvette, the guy most likely will get one citation. You pull over a beat up car with lots of problems and possible drugs. You got more tickets.

But its true, not to say I have a huge ego but... some cops are just AZZHOLES. My mother is a cop and she will tell you straight out. Many of the people she works with she hates, because they are AZZHOLES, that like to be in charge and boss people around.

If you don't believe me join the force, you will find out many cops are just as crazy as the loons on the street. In Milwaukee, atleast 5 cops are fired each year for drug abuse/drunk driving/theft/battery

Hey look my dad is a nice looking guy, he was a cop for 26 years, If you saw him, you would of never thought that 20 years ago he beat the hell out of his first wife, then 15 years ago he beat the hell out of my mom. Oh wait thats right... Cops being AZZHOLES is just a myth? Many cops years ago used to beat their wives. The Police officer is the ultimate job for power hungry people that want to control others.

Speed traps everywhere. Cat stuck in tree, cops show up.

One time this lady called the cops on my neighbor because he had his garage door open. My neighbor was fixing his Van, he was not making any noise he was just replacing a few sensors that were damaged, he needed to be to work and couldnt afford to not fix it that night. it was 2 am. And a cop shows up to his door. She asks him why is he up working on his Van. He then explains why.

Now get this, the lady cop actually tells my neighbor

"You have to close your garage and go inside, its too late for you to work on your car."

My neighbor looks at her and says "Oh yea? Who says?"

            Cop says "I said."

Neighbor says "Okay, i will be right back"

He calls franklin PD, talks to the sargent, the sargent tells the lady cop to leave his property immediately and report to the station.

hahaha, see how cops can be? they want to control others. Im not saying that all cops are azzholes, but this is a prime example of what many are. D*CKHEADS!

Here's a concept: don't break the law and you won't get ticketed.

i wasn't saying anything about the cops pulling kids over and stuff because of their cars. I'm saying that in our town(SMALL 3,500 People) the cops know these kids. I pay for mine and everything that has to do with it. i pay for all my stuff to. But i'm saying that the cops in town respect the fact that i'm one of the VERY few that pay for their own s**t.

My last ticket was due to violation of a construction zone. Along a big stretch of highway there was a bunch of construction with multiple gaps for exits and whatnot. I came upon my exit and I figured (wrongly) that the gap in the cones was for the exit I was taking. I saw my exit was closed and changed lanes again to continue on that highway. Subsequently I was pulled over and ticketed for $120 for violating a construction zone (and it could be $240 if they decide to double it for a violation in a construction area.)

I was totally respectful but the cop was a dick. He scared me to death by making me go to his car while he was writing the ticket(totally unneccessary.) Then he gave me a speech about how if I hit a construction worker my life is "over," even though there were no construction workers out in the area that I tried to exit. Seriously, I was only going like 30 mph in a huge area, like I'm going to start taking out construction workers Grand Theft Auto-style...

You say don't break the law, but do I deserve to pay $120 (possibly $240) for an honest mistake when I'm struggling to pay my bills? This is the case I'll make in court. I learned my lesson, be more careful when there's construction around. I think being pulled over was more than enough to teach me that. I guess the cop figured that since I drive a 2002 Camaro I can afford to pay that. WRONG. It was as if people don't get away with pulling stupid boneheaded bull**** on the road everyday, and I make one mistake and get a $120 ticket. I wish they would reserve the huge fines for real criminals.

Cops get too much ****. They get BSed all day long, and get attitudes from everyone who doesnt want a ticket. You do something wrong, pay the ticket. Last time I got a ticket (bout 9 months ago) I just told him the truth, didn't deny ****, and my last words were "Thank you sir" after he gave me the ticket. Been pulled over 4 time, ticketed 2 times. Just give them respect, and if their alone, or don't have quotas to meet, 9 times out of 10 they'll let you go, or at least a damn good break. Be honest, and don't be a dick. Also, if you make him laugh, your chances of tickets go lower. And buy a damn Radar Detector!

i don't buy that for a second. my city even has an ordinance against mechanical work beyond 9pm. if someone were to complain, we have no choice but to tell them to stop or get a ticket. i've answered several complaints on night shift where someone is working on their car. i told them to pack it up until daytime. it's a BS call, but part of it.

no supervisor would ever undermine the authority of his/her officer in front of the public. not only is it unprofessional, but that kind of stuff just doesn't happen in front of citizens.

if you call my PD asking to speak to a sgt while i'm answering a call at your house, one of two things will happen. either the dispatcher will tell you to leave a message or i'll personally take you down to visit the sgt. you'll have plenty of time then; at least until you see the judge for your arraignment.

i had a guy call a judge trying to get out of a noise ticket. he went to jail instead of getting a warning as i'd initially inteded to do. i don't care who you know, but if you pull that crap with me, i'll not show you any mercy. if you don't like the way i handled things, complain later.

i get that sometimes on traffic stops; people demanding a supervisor. the problem with that is you don't have any power to demand anything at that point. the sgt will always agree with my decision in that instance.

i've been through the game before. i had a cop accuse me of being a pothead. i've never touched the stuff (aside from finding it at work). i used to get followed around. i had some cops treat me like i'd just robbed a bank. i've also had some who were very courteous to me. i had one stop me maliciously. he backtracked when he saw i was in full police uniform. showing off in front of his reserve got him a day off without pay.

i've met some serious a-hole cops in my career. some i hope i never run into again. i've also had the honor of meeting some of the best people i've ever met; and they happened to be wearing a badge and a uniform.

Are there a-hole cops? Sure. Do a-hole drivers exceed ther number by a huge margain? Hell yes.
You people who whine and biatch and moan about getting tickets just have no freaking clue.

Their job is to enforce the law. If you don't like the law as written, get it changed. Do you want the police to have the ability to pick and chose what laws they enforce? Imagine your car gets stolen, and the police decide not to get it back. Or they decide not to arrest the one who stole it. Not too palatable is it.

These guys leave home every day with the possibility of not ever coming home because some a-hole resents getting a ticket and shoots them down. And they are way underpaid for that risk.

Don't like cops? Don't be stupid and break the law. They won't bother you.

As to that remark about 'real criminals', how can they catch these so called real criminals when they have to deal with you?

I have an idea ... it's a bit far fetched, but it might just work .... STOP BIT*HING! Who gives a crap ... let people rant, about whatever they want, it makes them feel better. I thought that was the point of the lounge, one can talk about virtually anything (PG13 of course ;) ). If you think their post is stupid, just don't reply. It's really simple, actually. Try it sometime ...

When you start a post bashing other people's posts, it kinda makes you just as annoying as the original post writer your bashing! (wow, that was a mouthful!) It's pointless to argue ... I should know! People are stuck in their ways, stuck in their opinions and thoughts ...

Who cares guys ... can't we all just get along?!? ;)

PS - Wasn't trying to be mean ... please don't yell at me :D
