strange that nobody is reporting the gas situation

does anyone else find it strange that places are running out of gas but I can't find anything about it on any of the news sites. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't care BUT I am trying to move next wednesday and I'm gonna have to fill up a U-haul and get it at least to texas which is 84 miles away. Once in texas I should be good because I think they are supplied out of houston and such.

now I'm not writing this to discount what is going on in N.O. because I have friends down there right now in the guard. Have friends of friends who are firefighters and police who went down to help and are now coming back because of getting shot at.

I konw there is another post about what's going on in N.O. so I won't go into that. anyway if you are on here and noticing gas stations closing give a shout

yeah there are some posts on here but look at the news sites, I can't find anything, in one of the threads somebody says that a pipeline is back open but i can't find that either. There seems to just be word of mouth and forums like this.

My guess that complete chaos, death, suffering & violence in an entire American city takes a higher importance to gas prices

Go to Google News and search "gasoline shortage". 2000+ hits.

The basic deal is that if everybody panics and fills up, there'll be a problem. Otherwise, it seems likely that, except for a few places in the Southeast, the worst that will happen is you'll have to get a different grade than you're used to.

I think that it has gone way beyond lack of supply. I think greed is playing a huge role in the way gas prices are. They're taking advantage of a natural disaster to make money which is absolutely sickening. It's gone up here another $.20 since yesterday. Making a total of a $.50 increase since Monday.

Last night at 11pm, I paid 3.03 for 93 for the GTP. Today it's $3.00 for 87
