PA gas tax = Liquid Fuels Tax ($.12/gal) + Oil Franchise Tax ($.191/gal) = $.311
Additionally, there is a federal tax that what I understand is around $.184
Some states, like New York, also have county taxes on gas as well. Total, once we round the half-penny up, we pay a tax of $.50 a gallon
PA ranks #2 as far as highest tax per gallon from what I can tell.
