  • pa might drop gas taxes

just saw on the news this morning that pa is trying to get a bill passed to drop all taxes on gas. that would be great. for those of you who don't know pa sales tax is 7%. avarge gas in philly today is $3.25. so that means we will drop .2275 cents. so we would be just over 3 bucks a gallon. still high. but hey we will take what we can get. lets just pray it passes

Yeah, so they'll drop the taxes, and the retailers will just jack their prices up further. You know it's gonna happen. :(

Sice when did sales tax = gas tax? I thought they were two completely seperate things. For instance in Washington State, Sales tax is 8.xx (varies by county), but when gas was $1.2x, the gas tax accounted for almost 30 cents of that...

                      Yah, here you go:

See, the two are totally seperate.

Gas tax is different then sales tax ;) But your number is probably pretty close. When FL lowered gas taxes for a month last year, it dropped about .10-.15/gallon.
