PA gas tax = Liquid Fuels Tax ($.12/gal) + Oil Franchise Tax ($.191/gal) = $.311

Additionally, there is a federal tax that what I understand is around $.184

Some states, like New York, also have county taxes on gas as well. Total, once we round the half-penny up, we pay a tax of $.50 a gallon

PA ranks #2 as far as highest tax per gallon from what I can tell.

#1 - Wisconsin ($.322)
#2 - Pennsylvania ($.311)
#3 - New York ($.299)

#47 - New Jersy ($.145)
#47 - Florida ($.145)
#48 - Wyoming ($.140)
#49 - Alaska ($.080)
#50 - Georgia ($.075)

I had heard oklahoma might do that, but it sure as hell hasn't gone down yet!

I just finished off all that $2.84 gas, and now I had to get $2.99 stuff....cost about $32 to top her off.
