  • So I Almost Died Last Nite...

So last nite i was coming home from my girls house and on the way back to my house there is a 2 lane road so i was going about driving home when all of a sudden i see head lights comeing towards me at about 60 MPH, i was doing about 60 also.

To my left there was a curb and trees and a ditch, to my right there was a SUV. So what i was going to do is just swerve off the road and hit a tree, anything to avoid a head on collision.

So what ended up happening is the SUV next to me saw what was happening and they braked giving me some space to pull into their lane. When the car that was going the wrong way passed me up i looked in my mirror and i see that he neever even hit his brake lights or anything.

I came within about 3 feet of hitting this person

I drew something up in paint to illustrate how it went...

    Then, after the suv moved

That happened to me one time....Except this was a 4 lane road with a huge median. I popped a Uturn and tried to follow him, but luckely for him, I was too far behind to catch up. I would have beaten him to a bloody pulp.

Damn that sucks dude. I've been in a head on before when I was about 15 years old. Both doing about 35mph. Little brother broke his knee, mom broke her shoulder and I escaped with very minor injuries..... the guy that hit us died at the hospital... :(

But what the hell was the guy doing on your side of the road? I mean, from the drawings, looks like he would have had to cross through the woods in order to get to you guys....odd...

What it's because that person probably thought it was a two way lane?

damn man, glad you made it out alright... people do it all the time in this one part of my neighborhood. At least its a neighborhood with little traffic and you have enough time to see them coming but its rediculous.

Wanna know something crazy once in south Florida I was driving home around 2am on 595, and I saw a small light, next thing I know there is a guy riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road, I had room to swerve, but it was crazy.

guy riding a bike on a 8 lane highway at 2am.

Glad your ok, your pretty lucky the guy in the SUV was aware of the situation. I wonder what happened to that car behind you according to that extremely high quality illustration.

I dont think he was trying to match up the colors. I cant remember the last time I seen heavly wooded areas and ditches that were lime-green.

that happened to my family once. we were on the way home on the highway and some old lady was headed down the wrong way. we swirved off into the median, then hopped back on the highway, everything was ok for us, but somebody behind us wasnt so lucky.

First off, it's good to know that you were fine, and nothing happened. I hate it when people do that. Happened to my parents a few years ago. My parents started honking and flashing their high beams. The old woman just drove off the road onto the lawns of some houses like it was another lane for her. And on base. MAN! old people not grasping the concept of one way roads.

I'm confused. If it was a two lane road were you passing the SUV and you misjudged how much room you had to complete the pass?

Or do you mean it was a FOUR lane road (two lanes in each directions) so the stupid person was in the wrong lanes?

right its a 4 lane road, 2 lanes incoming 2 lanes outgoing, and the 2 roads are divided with about 20 feet or so of wooded area...
