  • So my tranny is FUBR.

    I'm gonna cry!

I just got invited to take this car to a summer series, my blower kit is sitting in my living room waiting for install, my ONE main event for the year doesn't have a date yet ... and now my tranny is officially FUBR! :(
    Anyone know a cheap/good rebuild place for a 5-spd?

My car has this list of things that need to be done ... and now I can't do any of them! :( :frustrated: :upset:

I think my blood pressure/stress level just shoot through the roof - I'm gonna be sick. :(

dang your car just keeps getting more and more problems...

As a word of afvice from someone who has experienced a transmission trouble or two... Get it upgraded. Who cares if you miss an event and it costs more if you want to keep going like this upgrade the tranny or convert to auto with a stall.

If endless money and resources were available then yes.

Sometimes I think people don't realize how difficult/ how much money it would take to run 10's in the 4th gen 3800 series 2 v6 engine in these f bodies

a 6 speed conversion is not worth the work, simply speaking in terms of quantifiable results.

a T5 is not worth the $$$ (~1500) for a good rebuild... just get a junked one.

what exactly is wrong with the one you have now?

A six speed swap isnt worth it when you can spend the same amount or less and buy a G-force T-5 that will probably outrun the 6 speed and be way stronger. Besides that I dont think a rebuild would cost 1500. I had connections when I had mine rebuilt so I cant say for sure but I really dont see how it can cost that much.
