i got a emial about 2-4 hours after it happened from USGS and it wasn't even on the news yet,

it was a 8.5 quake, and the wave hit one island in about a minute after quake hit.

We got some support after 9/11, that was cool. But I don't remember who or what was given... After our multiple hurricanes, I didnt see the international community helping out with anything. But, we need to take the higher ground and give what we can when we can, can't be childish about it. My prayers go out to those who are suffering right now.

Whats sad about us giving the money over there is that a lot of the terrorists came from over there. A few training camps and such were located over in that area.

Actually, Canada did help. They sent a fleet of power workers along with the vehicles to help repair the power outages that Florida was having

considering the debt we are in, the war and the hurricanes; i dont think the money we gave was very stingy at all. trust me, i feel for them but for those who think we didnt give enough.....it is not our problem to give everyone help

Now Bush is going to give them over $35 million in aid..I can think of a lot better ways to spend that money than dumping it into Asia..

I guess it's a lose/lose situation for the President though: if he doesn't give them aid he'll be accused of insensitivity. :rolleyes:

those 35 million could be used to fund for reserach for cancer, althemierz (sp), HIV/AIDS, etc...

I could think of a lot better places those 35 million could be used
