  • ING Direct savings account?

Any else have one of these? I just set mine up a few days ago. Interest return is 3.3% compared to my Nasa FCU of .65%.

I was thinking about setting one up as well. My bank pays about .60% for interest.

What is an "ING" direct savings account?
I will be changing careers very soon.
My take home pay will be increased so I would like to start throwing any extra cash sensibly into a better account.

I just withdrew 1000 bux out of my credit union to put in this. I made .64 cents last month on about 1200 buc in the CU, I made .04 cents from ING in 6 days with 125 bux.

I recommend it. I've used it for a couple months now and the person that recommended it to me has used it for 4 years.

The only catch is that everything is online and it takes a couple days for money to transfer. Besides that, it is very good.

If anyone's interested, I can send you a referral. If you follow the referral link in that email, you get an extra $25 when you sign up and I get an extra $10.

I've got ING through my job and I've made about a 2 dollars in 2 months with only 250 down so far of course I think I just lost alot from all this gas price crisis. O well thats why I went aggressive with it...

I have had an ING Direct Savings account for over four years and I love it. If anyone has any questions about it, hit me up on AIM (Tru2Chevy24). I will also offer up a referral to anyone who wants one.

So is this basically a savings account that is purely online/no brick and mortar so they offer a higher interest rate? Is there anything else that is different? Like restrictions on with drawing money.

Sounds like a good place to put rainy day money. I may have to research this a little.

Yes Hokie, that's basically it. The only thing is if you need the money, it takes a couple days to transfer it.

Eh, I've only kept a decent amount in it in the last 10 months or so. When I first got the account (summer before 9/11) the interest rate was ~5.5%, but dropped fast after 9/11. It has slowly been going back up ever since.

There are no minimum balances (i have gone months with under $1.00 in the account due to being broke as hell), and there is no limitation to withdrawls or deposits. They even offer routing and transit numbers now if you want to set up direct deposit with your paycheck.
