You must not be meeting the right women ;) I know exactly what's done to my car, and done most the work on my cars myself. The work i haven't done, was done by my best friend who is also a female, her name is Pathogen. :D

I don't care for women who know nothing about cars at all, and hang around the car scene pretending, just so they can pick up a guy...

I DO have a lot of respect for women in the sport who are genuinely interested, and who DO their own work and understand what has been done to the car and why, genuinely enjoying that feel of speed and performance...

I can say from my experience that it is VERY difficult (at least in my area) to be taken seriously when you're a woman and a car enthusiast. I was one of the first girls ever in my area to take 2 years of automotive and a small engines class in high school, and one of the rare few women to attend vocational college for 2 years to earn a degree as an automotive technician. I then interned and worked in the field in both Ford and Chevy dealerships. Did I love cars? Absolutely! Did I know everything? Of course not, but I was always willing to jump in and learn. Am I still working in the field? No. The constant put-downs every day by unaccepting men (my area is a bit behind the times and chauvanistic) eventually made it just not worth it. I was sick of angrily defending myself or going home in tears. Sadly, I let others drive me out of the field.

Now, I have a wonderful man in my life who totally supports my hobby, and encourages it. He is helping me to truly enjoy wrenching again. While I will probably never go back to mechanics as a work field, I will once again be found out in the garage at home, happily getting dirty. And, in the future, Jon will be teaching me how to work on atv's and dirt bikes--heck, right now I am learning to DRIVE dirt bikes (funner than hell, by the way) and hopefully I will also be able to drag race again in the future!

So, any ladies out there who are into cars...stick with it...don't let anyone get you down or spoil your love for your car, no matter what it is. And...know there is always a chick in Minnesota cheering for you...

Ok I am glad I am not the only one, I thought maybe I was gonna get *****ed out or something.

I understand that everyone doesn't know everything about cars. I am definitely one of those people. BUt guess I just hate the "posers"

Female racers . I would love to spend rest of my life with a girl who is into cars. I respect that alot. I have had my *** handed to me by girls on typical red light races. Besides many disadvantages, if a girl still wants to be a racer or mechanic, i think she deserves support.

see i would never put a guy or gurl down like that. you do what you do. if your a woman who works on cars thats fine, why should you be outcasted becuz of that. i totally disagree about that. i personally work with every one the same, if you act normal and dont try to poser like a know it all, i think everyting shuld be fine.
