• My brother just got a 99 Cobra

my brother bought a 99 cobra yesterday. my dad and him went out looking at dealers and they came across this at a lot. there wasn't a price tag on it b/c it just came in the night before so they asked and the salesman told them $13.5k. they took it for a test drive and he loved it. the manager came out to the salesman and told him not to sell it for less than $15k. of course he said he'd buy it since the salesman screwed up and told them a lower price. it has 60k miles on it. i haven't seen it yet b/c he moved back home, but i can't wait to drive it.

i gotta say i'm a little jealous, but i'm happy for him. he's always wanted a cobra and now he finally got one. he moved back home and got a nice job there. he's living w/ my mom for $250 a month so he can easily afford this car. if i only had to pay that much rent i'd have a new car too. anyway here are the pics.

Rag on him and tell him its the "bastard year" Cobra

Either way still a nice car, and I know what you mean about rent...

If I lived at home, even if I still had to pay for all my own food(which I don;t) I could probably swing $600 a month car payment. That opens ALOT of doors.

but then again... all the fun and memories from living on my own is more then worth a car.

Nice looking car. Oh the things I could do if rent were only $250 a month.

$15k with 60k miles, ouch! I picked up my '98 z28 for $12k and 33k miles and the LS1 ownz just a year and half ago

But still a nice ride none-the-less.

he got it for $13.5k. its below kbb so he made out pretty well. he was looking at a ls1's and gt's, then came across this cobra. he's always wanted a cobra for years. i'm glad he got this instead of a gt. saying you drive a cobra is so much cooler than driving a mustang gt. Its a cobra though... Look at the prices of a 99 SS, and I believe cobras are rare then SSs.

cobras and mach-1s are pretty kool for mustangs.

i was in the same situation as you a lil while ago, my bro bought a 77 trans am with a 400 small block in it. he put a shift kit in it and blew it up. so we swapped in a 455, and then it blew up. so we never got a chance to race. he wishes he just woulda bought a 2000+ firebird though now.

Nice stang, Ive always liked the 99s. Tell him to get a 03 cobra wing though, i hate that goofy 99 wing

btw he did get a good price, Cobras always fetch high market value and usualy sell fast

The dealer I bought the GTP from had a NEW 04 Cobra. I so wish I could have afforded the $600/month car payment for that beast. Actually, we could swing a $600 payment, but we would be car broke.

I know what you mean by carbroke, I almost bought a '04 Gt new instead of my current car. I could have swung it but would have been car broke at the time.. Then I got a big raise at work... So I should have bought it :(

I'm still happy with the GTP, very comfortable, easy to mod, I know the 3800 like the back of my hand, so I don't need to learn all over again about a new engine. And it is, by far, the funnest car I've ever driven. Very smooth steering, and a sports car suspension without a stiff sports car ride.
