My friend bought an 87 z28 5 speed and it runs well but he has a few problems with it. Im also looking at motorcycles but i dont know if thats my #1 option right now.
There is fast, too fast, and way too fast. Way too fast is almost fast enough.

Lt1s run forever, Ive seen dozens with over 200k miles on them, you can get a police caprice for $1800-$2500 around here, its a bit over but not much

A couple of months back I got my friend a 94' Honda Civic that was slightly modified for $1500 I regret not getting that car. :( It came w/ 17' Motegi wheels w/ brand spankin' new Kuhmos ASX, a low tone fart pipe w/ a not so big exhaust tip, pacesetter header, some big spark plug wires, alarm, a/c, NO WING! Cd player w/ 2 bazookas, a 12'jensen, a 500 watt pioneer amp and some other stuff I can't think about this instant. Not bad for $1500

They run forever, but the Optisparks need replacing every 3-6 months.

Maybe you had a bad experience with one but that doesn't mean that they are a crappy motor. Around here, they buy junkyard 305s and spray them 200+ and they hold fine. I hated 305s until I found out that 305s love nitrous!

or go to a dealer and pic apart a 4th gen with a 3.4. you can get em down to $2000 cash tust me. you could most likely fix anything on it yourself with our help too. my friend got a killer 94 firebird for $1160 and we barely made it home. I fixed the alternator, pounched out the cat, and put new wires on(the guy put wires on wrong and because the cat was plugged it burned them up) now the guy drives the car with a minimal egr problem daily. the car has about including cost $1400 into it and is very reliable. i think he now has around 180,000 miles on it. we got it with 165,000

I would recommend a Grand Am or a Cavalier maybe. I've seen some newer bodied Cavaliers go for 2,000, and a little more (up to 2,500).

If nothing else, try for a Grand Am. I would go with the V6 engine if possible, but my friend got a 93 Grand Am SE 4 cylinder with 55,000 miles on it for only 2,300.

ehh the most recent body style cavalier, once it gets higher in miles they get pretty rough.

Though you might be able to get a decent one for $2k since they sell for cheap. I have been around them a bit, my girlfriend has had 2, and a friend of mine has one.
