  • how are my odds with the dealership?

Driver and Passenger side window motors going out randomly
Driverside Headlight pops and bangs when closing
    Spoiler cracking along edge
Bubbles in paint near driver side door
    Leaking Master Brake Cylinder

thats the list im taking with me to the dealership tomarrow...

i have some issues, right now my car wont start (prolly dead battery) and my brake fluid is leaking which makes my mom very nervous lol... so anyways shes forcing me to take the car to the dealer and im forcing her to pay... but im wondering if you guys think that my 100k mile extended warranty will cover all this stuff...

im waiting to hear them blame my spoiler cracks on my subwoofer

or my windows dying because of my aluminum door panel mod...

headlights are a normal thing going out but they will most likely blame my new hood or somthing..

    what do you think?

The first two, I would fix on my own. They'll take you no longer than a couple hours together.

I could see them covering the brake repair, but not much else. They could say that the rest wasn't a fault from the car, but because or excess wear on the vehicle. They'll fix it all, but I'm sure you're going to end up paying for some if it

well see this is the thing, my mom is FORCING me to go there...

so im going to give them this list and force her to pay for it since i could fix everything myself, save for the paint bubbles and the spoiler cracking

i dont see how the spoiler cracking is excess wear!? it just started cracking, no one ever stood on the spoiler and i always, ALWAYS close the hatch with that lip under the third break light anyways! wtf...

what do you guys use to close the hatch? one hand, two hands? where do you grab?

If you have the GM extended warranty, here is your coverage. If you have anything else, they most likely will not cover anything you've listed.

Driver and Passenger side window motors going out randomly - Covered.
Driverside Headlight pops and bangs when closing - Covered.
Spoiler cracking along edge - Not covered.
Bubbles in paint near driver side door - Not covered.
Leaking Master Brake Cylinder - Covered.

Your comments about aftermarket hood and window motors - depends on how you handle it. Most dealers won't kick about that becasue the repairs are reimburseable to them. The dealer will startt to balk if the repair looks like it will take longer than they get reimbursed for.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

My extended warranty I bought through the dealership covered the window motors.... twice. And they are almost to the point of being replaced again...

I always thought the headlights poping and banging was normal.

It's the dealership's responsibility to prove that aftermarket accessories caused a defect or problem. Only after they've proven the accessory is the cause of the issue can they charge you for the repair if it's under warranty. Stick it to 'em man!

my car wont start, battery checked, its fine, (damnit) i was hoping the batt was dead... the car cant start on its own, has to be jumped or have a charged battery hooked up, we think its the alternator.... wonder if the dealership will take care of that too... bah.. anything that they charge to pay for im going to do myself... alternator is no biggie, i know window motors and headlight motors are easy but i want them to do it for me for free lol... im sure that the master cylinder just needs to be taken out and put back in correctly, OR replaced entirely.. but i know thats something that they will do..
(unless they suspect that i fiddled withit when i did my shocks lol...)

i just got back from the dealer... they wont fix the window motors because they "still work" and i guess they are going to look at the alternator, leaking master cylinder, and popping headlight..

but the spoiler and clear coat bubbles wont go through even on my extended warranty... so beware... your windows have to be totally trash to be replaced... yay.

they better fix my headlight/alternator/and master cylinder or ill be pissedd

said something bout a 150 dollar diagnosis charge, so that better go towards whatever they fix cause i ain't payin for any bull**** lol

is your warranty through the dealer or through GM? You could always try another dealer... they'd probably replace the window motors.

Actually, I'm sure that is dealer dependent. When my driverside window motor went out, the passenger side was slowing down a little and they went ahead and replaced both for me.

just got word from the dealer

ok, alternator and battery are fine they said.. the problem was with a little 15 cent bolt that was stripped that went into the Positive battery post.

The master cylinder is in fact leaking, they are replacing that tomarrow morning i guess, if i bought the cylinder on ebay, it would cost me 25 or so shipped then all i need is a little brake line bleeder screws and bleed the brakes for air. so like add some fluid and that would be like maybe a 50 dollar in garage job... and the battery would be a 15 cent bolt or like 4 dollar new cables at autozone...

they are doing transmission fluid and coolant flush for my 30k mile service (cause my mom called in unbeknownst to me and told them to go ahead and do it while they were there) and so thats another 500 dollars... i bet this whole deal is going to cost upwards of 700 dollars for MAYBE a 100 dollar job and a saturday...

coolant and transmission fluid can be done pretty quick... at least tranny right? ggeeez.... what a waste... at least im not payin haha!
