The last time I talked to my wife (Katie) was Wednesday night. She had gone to North Carolina with her friend Lauren, and was staying with one of Lauren's friends. Wednesday, she emailed me, saying that they were making a trip to pick somebody up, and that they wouldn't be back until after I left work. So I called her before it was time for me to leave
While on the phone with her, she said that they were on the way back, but still had a good three hour drive left. Also, the car's alternator, or some other part of the charging system stopped working, and now the car's battery was almost dead. I talked to her until her phone's batt. died on us, and haven't been able to talk to her since. It goes straight to her voice mail. The last thing I heard her say was that they were going to stop somewhere, and look into getting another car battery .
Well, after not talking to her at all yesterday, I called her dad. He said they hadn't been able to talk to her either, but the last time they did talk to her, she was somewhere in New York. We've been trying Lauren's cell phone, but it just rings until the voice mail picks up. I don't know what to do. I'm getting so worried. I only have a few more weeks left over here, before I come home, and this happens. I wish I knew that Katie was safe. I don't know what I want, I guess I just need to talk to someone, and maybe get some advice from the people around here. Thank you all

That's the biggest problem right now. I have no clue where they even went. She didn't know where they were staying in North Carolina, And I didn't know that she went to NY until her aunt told me today. Hopefully I can get a hold of her friend. I'm hoping that she was just asleep and whenever she wakes up (sometime in the evening), I can talk to them

True. She went with at least two or three other people. I don't have the faintest idea what they wanted to do up there. Her friend just really wanted to go to North Carolina, so Katie went with her. The return flight is sometime on the fourth, so hopefully I'll hear from them before then. You know, if I had know that they wanted to drive up to NY, I would have questioned Katie about going up there. I worry so much about her over here. I was a wreck when she drove from Louisiana to Florida for Christmas, and I was just as worried about this trip that they wanted to go on. I tried her friend's cell again, but still no answer. If only I hadn't come over here, I'd be at home right now, with her in my arms

yeah i used to date a girl from PA that was like 7 hours away..i only saw her every other weekend..i always used to think..man if only i could get a job down there id be with her all the time..id be with her RIGHT NOW..that was a few years ago and it didnt work out but i dont think i couldnt been any more in love with her so i can somewhat understand..that relationship was so hard..not because we had a lot of problems or anything..just because being away from someone you love that much for so long is tough..so i feel for people doing the long distance thing (even if only for a while..in the U.S.A.F. or other situations)..well dont worry man..if she was with that many people im sure shes fine..just a communication thing..keep us posted! Well, I just got some good news. her aunt just emailed me, saying that Katie called them. Nothing else, but I think I'm going to call her aunt in a minute to see what's up with Katie. Thanks for your support. This little fiasco went over pretty quickly, even though it felt like almost forever to me

I dont know how you're going to take this, but i want to say it anyway. I know you love her and all but, what you are doing is not a waste of time. You may not be able to be "saving" her right now physically, but by what you are doing right now you are saving her, along with a whole bunch of other people by protecting us all and our country. Be brave Be strong, you have what it takes (hell if you didn't you wouldn't make it through basic training ;) ) and i know you can make it through it and deep down i bet you know she will be alright

I guess what I was doing was trying to put this on my shoulders. What had happened was my base wasn't suppost to come over here. The base that did, was short a few people, so I asked my wife if she minded me coming over here, to make some extra money, and so I won't have to some time in 2005. Thank you though

**Update on my wife's situation**

I know this was fast, but I found out what happened. Her aunt jsut emailed me this, so now, I'm going to try and call her

"Kate just called. They just got the car back and she was able to plug her
phone in. It's been dead since day before yesterday. She tried calling you
just to see if she could get through and could not, so she called here.
They got "stranded" in NY. The car had to be repaired ...they spent night
before last at the gas station with the car...think they had a place to
sleep last night, but she said she hadn't had a bath in three days. She
said they are fine and the car is working again. She apologized for not
being able to call when she found out we were concerned.

She said Lauren lost her phone in Tampa, so she doesn't even have one with
her. I told her it might be a good idea for them both to let everyone know
they are fine."

So that explains why I couldn't reach her friend. Once again, thank you for your support, and I hope that I can be there to help if you ever need anything

I know. She was a little angry at me for getting so worried, but I can live with that. I'm feeling better now. Looks like it's time for me to go have my three beers, and watch our ball drop under the bra
