i think, after reading your last post on that link, that this might be all the help i can provide...

no i'm just joking. that really sucks. there's gotta be something you can do about it. when i went to get the starter replaced in my car this past weekend, they almost put in new headlight motors, 300 a piece + labor... when the starter and install was only 230. luckily i went and checked on my car to see when it was gonna be done before they started to replace the motors otherwise, i'd be ****ting my pants trying to find a way to get money for it. all i needed to do was turn the gears around because they were slipping and they wanted to replace the whole motor. damn mechanics.

pay for it on a credit card and dispute the charges and call a lawyer if you like and have him write a letter to them threatening legal action.

OMG... That sucks. We have a shop in town that will do it for $125 and that's a flat fee. He won't charge more if something isn't right. The shop is good. Small claims court sounds like a good idea

no the name of the place is Clutch unlimited... im not sure really how much i got ripped off... he did only charge 125 for labor, but the rest is cost in parts. i had to get two new solenoids, he said that one went out and that the other was on its way, i actually used a UPS backup computer battery (i work in an IT dept) and tested the solenoids with some wire i striped outa a broken power strip. one solenoid was definately weaker than the other one but whatever.. he also charged me like 40 bucks for the corvette servo and bought 2 aluminum pistons to replace the plastic ones that can someitmes break under the force... so the only EXTRA that he really charged me was a half hours labor for the solenoids/pistons/and the corvette servo.. i think that IN A WAY i kinda got lucky, yea i might not have wanted him to do all that extra but hell maybe it was worth it, maybe i would be back in a tranny shop within a month cause soe of this stuff went wrong so yea my wallet took a hit but he might have saved me some time and a lot of money. he definately knows his trany history though
