• WARNING! Halo 2 and single player gamers...

If you play games for the single player campaign and story, DO NOT BUY Halo 2!!! Do yourself a favor and rent it. You can easily beat it in around 6 hours (I did) and get the story. Don't waste your cash on a game that has an awesome story and then screws you at the end. YOU WON'T LIKE THE END RESULT!!! Now I'm out almost $60... feck! I'm going to watch the DVD it comes with and trade it for something else...

It's not about the difficulty of the game, it's about the story. Maybe I should clarify a bit? Here you go:

CRAPPY TACTICS USED TO MAKE SOMEONE BUY A POSSIBLE 3RD GAME IS WHAT'S PISSING ME OFF!

Honestly, I never play through a game the first time on normal or hard. If you do, that's fine. My gripe isn't about difficulty or length, it's how they end it!

Not directed at you jc, I'm just never going to buy another Bungie game again in my life (but I'll probably rent one... lol)

EDIT: If anyone doesn't believe me, just read www.penny-arcade.com and see what Tycho has to say about it... :D Wish I read that before dropping $59.22 on this "Multiplayer" game.

so u played on easy? god.. that's meant for little kids dude.. of course it'll be quick.. you're nearly invincible. The game is called Strategy Evolved so you take on tougher difficulties and use alternative routes to defeat your enemy instead of just running in and shooting everything. U get more from the game and you feel what you have done was earned... instead of feeling that you wasted 60 dollars on a game you spent 6 hours on...

Gah! UNDERSTAND THE POINT I'M TRYING TO MAKE! It's about the story, "dood"! The game is fun, but there should be a sense of closure (to an extent) at the end. Not a "buy the next game to see what happens, kids!" ending. It's not about the difficulty. I like going through and enjoying the game's story before moving on to play for a challenge.

Honestly, unless you were playing on an original Atari 2600 and colecovision like I was, don't try to make assumptions about my game playing skills. I don't have 20+ hours to dedicate on a game, especially when I work 60+ hours a week and have a family. But since you're a gaming "guru" I'm just going to bow down to your prowess. ummmm
it was supposed to be a multi player game. how can you whine about the story when it was obviously just thrown in there. I really dont think they expected anyone to play the game. socom 2 is the same way. battlefield 1942/vietnam are the same way.

I see what you're saying but your argument is pointless. Its a game for hs and college kids to play over the network. end of story. go buy myst or a porn if you want single player action.

I personally don't care about the storyline. The only way I play Halo is with my friend, and we've got it beat on every difficulty level. Everything is co-op. So, I guess I'm trying to say that I really don't care about the story, I play it because the gameplay is rewarding to me. I could care less if it were set up like Quake 3, it was still a great game because of the way it played

you know I have played alot of Fps's and I really don't understand why people like Halo at all. The only think I saw that was going for it when it came out was the things you could drive or fly and that kinda wears off fast, plus the guns in the game are really not that cool. I think I will just stick with Call of Duty.

I was just a little disappointed is all. The story's great, just ended at the wrong time. As for people saying it's not meant for single player, why would they market it as such and/or even bother to put in a campaign mode? How many games are sold as "online only" and make no mention of an epic, sweeping plot? I can think of quite a few! The argument of the game not being meant for single player is incorrect.

I've decided to keep the game and play around with the 2 free months of Xbox Live that it comes with. I shoulda known, if I wanted a great story that doesn't blow its load at the wrong time, I shoulda stuck with Half-Life 2... ;)

I haven't bought Halo 2 yet(I just went by walmart and it was sold outt). I can say that the commercials made a big deal out of the story though. It was something like "The world is under attack and there's only one hope..." I did hear that the game has a bogus ending from other sources too. But in their defense, they only had two years to come up with a good story.

LMAO, I'm just not big into multiplayer gaming anymore. I don't play well with others, lol. I could easily fill my house with people if I had half a mind to, but... nah... :D

Yea, my roomate told me yesterday that he beat it yesterday morning. Took him like 10 hours total, not long at all, on normal.

But like everyone said, the multiplayer is sick, i love it.
