it's scaring the sh!t out of me
see you think someone is a pain in the @$$ until they fall over backwards and hit their head on the wall and start chewing on their tongue. Then you realize how much you love someone. He's only 15 and usually is just a typical annoying brother, but it took me about 1/4 of a second to run to his side holding him telling him I love him as he is crying. He is going for an EEG tomorrow. He has to stay up all night (24 hrs) beforehand, so I bought him a couple playstation 2 games (Van Helsing, and Extermination) so I am going to stay up with him all night and keep him company.
    Scary.

if he has epilepsy, i don't think video games are a good idea. the flashing lights and stuff will trigger a seizure.

i think he either has epilepsy or a severe concussion.

if he starts having a seizure, make sure you have a spoon handy, so you can put it in his mouth and keep him from chewing his tongue off. Make sure there are pillows handy too, to keep him from banging his head on the floor.

my dad used to work with a guy who had epilepsy, and he had a seizure on time at work. my dad could only stick his foot under the guy's head to keep him from smashing his head. it's very scary. i hope your brother's ok.

if he does go into one people get like 20 time s stonger becuase all ther adraline realeses the best way to hold the is hold there head bettween you legs. and reach up under and crabe there arms (like a tomb-stone) and just use your wieght to hold them.

NO! Do not put anything into the mouth of someone that is having a seizure! It is impossible for someone to swallow their own tongue. If you place something metal in their mouth, you will increase the likelihood that when he or she bites down, they will crack their teeth.

You all will be in my thoughts and prayers man...

My mom's got a situation like that, she's been on too many meds for a long time, they're cold-turkeying her for a week and constantly monitoring her...kinda scary.

I'm pullin for your bro man...stay strong for him!

it's entirely possible for a person to swallow their own tongue. happens all the time. you can't force yourself to, just like you can't choke yourself to death.

Thanks for the info bud. However, Matt is in med school and I think I'd believe him over you.

Besides in simple red cross first aid they say during a seizure do NOTHING except clear the area so the victim can not convulse into anything. No restraining, no holding the tongue down.. no NOTHING.

Instead of running your mouth on the internet and giving out false information that might potentially harm someone, just read and learn.

thanks for the thoughts and prayers they are greatly appreciated
me and mom put him on the prayer list at church, but I don't think they know how serious it is getting. He passed out 3 times in 45 minutes.
I'm not sure exactly what it is yet, but he is going to the doctors tomorrow, so hopefully we will get a little clarification.
Right now they are thinking (hoping) that it is asthma related, and he is not getting enough oxygen. Hopefully they can clear it up before it gets to serious. I will post as I find out more.
                            again thanks
