I'm not going to sit here and go back and forth about what you believe and what I believe. I do not appreciate you questioning MY sanity by stating that I'm paranoid because I'm doing what is necessary by military standards. I'm sure if it were your azz on the line and people were actively looking to do harm to you or yours, you'd be a bit more proactive as well. Not a big enough target, thus not a concern, so the cops spend their time catching rapists and murderers instead.

You live outside of DC, which is probably the highest profile target for terrorists. There, you have 2 million unarmed citizens in a small physicial area, thus the sheeple cry for more "protection", and the cry is "answered" with more police.

I live in rural montana, (though the most urban part of the state in Billings, it's still very rural here). It's not a target by any means. Every other vehicle on the road is a pickup with a gun either in the gun rack in the window, or a wheelgun under the seat. 800,000 well armed citizens in a very large physical area, thus no need for excessive police force. Things are extremely... normal.. here.

That just goes to show how different 2 areas of the same country can really be.

Cops must be different where you guys live. The only time I've ever seen cops get in a hurry to do anything was when we had a riot at the local Krispy Kreme. About 99.9% of the time, they're useless. Around here it takes 3 cops just to give someone a speeding ticket, and it makes me furious to think my tax money is going to pay their a$$es.

If you don't believe me, tell me this....why do we still have army bases in Korea when that war was over about 40 years ago?

What gets me is that our government can't get it through their hollow skulls that these people hate us. Why the do we feel the need to go over there f*ckin' with them?

It's like I've said all along, it's simply history repeating itself. Big George went over there, blew some sh*t up, gas prices went up, and the Bush family made a fortune off of it. Now "dubya" has done the same sh*t. Even down in Florida, they quit trucking in gas 4 or 5 days before the hurricane even got there, causing a shortage and inflating prices. It's amazing to me that nobody sees the connection. If a Bush is in office, something's gonna happen with oil, you can count on it. The Bush family has too much personal interest in oil to just leave it alone.

But that's a little bit of a separate incident from the whole terrorist thing. If they haven't caught these guys by now, they should just hang it up, or at least cut some of the spending.

9/11 happened for a reason. It should have been a wake-up call to the American people--a wake up call to straighten up our foreign policy and maybe realize that we do not rule the planet. (Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect entirely.) It was caused by decades of poor American foreign policy. Stupid decisions by the U.S. government caused them to hate us so they attacked... and who ended up suffering? Innocent American civilians.
