From a class on the Palestinin-Israeli conflict that I took.

and yea, jihad doesn't actually appear in the quran; it's jihadu in arabic and it appears 33 times.
But someone told me it was in there...But then it turns out it is really jihadu... which is what I said.

our policy is supporting governemnts against anti-government sects.
No that is not our policy. Our policy is supporting whichever faction we think we can control. Who supported installing the Shah in Iran, or supported installing the Baathists in Iraq?

just as israel is condemned by islam for representing judaism, the US is condemned for representing christianity. the US is being targeted because of US support towards israel against palestinian fundamentalists who want to make israel an islamic state under islamic law. the quran calls jews "monkeys and pigs."
Warning, you're entering the Spin Zone! You make two assertions their which are mutually exclusive. You claim that the US is being attacked because it represents Christianity, but then claim it is because of our FOREIGN POLICY with regard to Israel. However, you previously claimed that they did not attack the US based on it's foreign policy. Which is it? I know the answer...

And actually, what the Koran says is...
They whom God has cursed and with whom He has been angry, some of them has He changed into apes and swine
    Which refers to
But when they [some Jews, but not all] proudly persisted in that which was forbidden, we [God] said to them, "Become scouted apes;"
What is more, it also says
God is your Lord and our Lord: we have our works and you have your works: between us and you let there be no strife: God will make us all one: and to Him shall we return.
rahman came to the US and reported back to bin laden about the alcohol and pronography that was rampant here. it doesn't conform with islamic fundamentalist beliefs.
Where did you even get that? You wouldn't even need to visit the US to figure that one out. SO why would they have sent an operative to see if we booze it up and look at porn?

they are crazy, but what they are buying into is not just a couple of looney leaders, but a book that is several centuries old. when rahman was tried, he used actual information in the quran to justify his actions in the assassination of sadat in egypt. he was set free. he's now in prison for leading the '93 bombing on the world trade center.
A book never killed anyone. The fact that someone got off based on texts in the Koran is more of an indication that the court was looking for a reason to find him innocent and was content to allow the distortion. Again, you are talking about some corrupt leaders controlling the peons and letting a murderer off because of a perversion of a religion. I'm sure this never happened during the Middle Ages in Europe.

america was attacked for a couple reasons. partly because of our foreign policy (specifically the countries that we choose to back are not terribly popular in the muslim word) and partly the "imperialist" american culture/attitude that is slowly taking over the entire world. many people find the american lifestyle very threatening.

First off, I'm not saying I'm an expert in Criminology and it's correspondance, but I am; however, a CJ Major. Violent crime is a small fration of ALL crime. Violent crime examples are murder, rape, burglary, arson, etc. A majority of these crimes are unpredictable. So how is putting more officers on the streets going to cut down on these crimes? And in case you guys are wondering, the majority of crime is "white-collar" crime, but the only reason why its not considered a crime is because it's not tried in a criminal court; but a civil court. The mere definition of crime is "any act that is punishable by a criminal court." Like Stefan, I too hate useless gov't spending; but since most of Americans are idiots, they think that more police=more protection. There are also reports out there that show this, with the NCVS (National Crime Victimization Survey) and the UCR (Uniform Crime Report) being the most credible. Keep in mind though, the UCR is reports collected by police - bringing a bias into the reports.
                    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

property crimes would be the highest, not violent crimes. more police will deter crime. if that wasn't the case, crime rates would skyrocket at crowded events where there are more, you guessed it, police. saturation patrols have a proven record of being effective.

and ucr is regulated and maintained by the fbi. how do you figure it's biased? where did that come from? it is based on facts of a crime, not opinions or preferences.

pay attention in class, you must be missing some important parts.
The Uniform Crime Report is biased in the sense that it's middleman is the officers themselves. Cmon now, you as an officer should know, that there are many crimes that go unreported because the officer sees no reason to report it for whatever reason. And I SAID violent crime is the lowest ("small fraction of all crime") meaning that property crime is the highest (only one left). And let me ask you this Domestic....

1.HOW WILL MORE POLICE DETER CRIME?
                    2.WHAT IS CRIME?
                    3.WHAT CRIME WILL THEY DETER?
4.WHAT CRIME IS A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS AFRAID OF?
5.IS THAT THE SAME AS QUESTION 3?

To say that having more cops around will deter crime is sooo abstract! There's no tangent evidence that supports your statement.
