yep, i'm 22.. and I lose hair in bundles.. it feckin' sucks. The good thing is that it's unnoticeable, and i still have tons of hair. I know the best route is propecia.. but man it's 60 dollars a month for 30 1.25mb tablets. There's another medication out there called Proscar (drug name is finasteride, same as propecia). Which is used for prostate cancer. 30 5mg tablets cost 10-15 dollars!?! WTF? I know people who have seen doctors that have given them the prescription for proscar and then the guys would use a pill cutter and get their 1.25mg. So here are my questions.. 1. Are most doctors cool about that sort of thing? I mean, the drug is the same, is it that big of a deal? 2. Would I have to see a dermatologist about this, or could my physician be just as suitable?
Dermatologists deal mostly with skin tissue anyway, not hair. I don't see how my doc would be less qualified for the diagnosis and/or trial prescription of finasteride. Thx guys, lemme know
