 thats like what... about 135 miles per day? over 2 hours a day in your car, or about 1 straight month of driving. you better be getting good milage. </font>
Very close. My wife puts about around 120 miles a day. With work, school and such. Plus in the weekend, we take it down to LA and Beach cities.

We've taken it up north, Utah, Arizona, Las Vegas, and pretty soon Texas.

I get about around 32-34 mpg in the Highway. I just changed the spark plugs last month. Sure keeps the mileage off my car.

power was still not an issue

i say get it man. would be a great car for your needs

        --------------------

i know i couldnt pull great quarter mile times, but the 4 door i drove got 27-28 mpg in the city, it has great low end for a 4cyl i mean it doesnt take more than 2,500 rpms to get you up to speed quickly and without more than 1/4 throttle.
that alone sold me on the car.

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Accord would be a nice choice. Looks like it would be dependable. But for $13k you could buy a brand new car. Chevy Aveo, Saturn Vue, Nissan Sentra, Kia Rio, Pontiac Sunfire, Honda Civic, Chevy Cavalier, Toyota Echo, Toyota Corolla, and the list could include many more. If I were buying a car just to get to point A to point B and look good doing it I would probably buy new. Its your money and you're the one who has to drive it so do want feels best to you.

chevy, saturn, kia, pontiac, chevy, have no resale value whatsoever. i buy one new and drive it off the lot it drove $3000. put 100,000 miles on it and the car is worth around $4500. bust a fender and the car needs brakes, not a pretty picture.

not a fan of the toyotas and im leaning toward good resale value. as said i dont need speed. i want a car to have enough getup and go, but not enough to make me want to thrash on it. i have little discipline with driving a faster squirelly car.

i might check out the hyundais.

what about subaru legacys non wagon. 4cyl

this car would be dependable, good resale, great mileage, enough power, comfortable, stylish, demands my respect and discipline, but....
still going to check out the subys and the hyundai.

and p.s., never going to own a civic

*raises hand* i'm a Honda technician. If anyone here has a saying in them.. I'd be the man.

I've seen some REAL high mile 4cyl accords.. Some that have been ridden hard, BUT -- they've all done their maint.. Honda recommends every 6 years/90,000 miles replace all the drive belts AND the timing belt. I've seen a timing belt slip, and its not pretty when they slip 15 degrees forward and send the exhaust valves in to the intake valves and slap them against the pistons.. Not pretty.

So IF you go look at Hondas, make sure if they are at 6yrs/90k, that they have had the t-belt done. Also, with Accords, beware of ****ty rear swaybar endlinks They go out like CRAZY on those. Converters go out every once in a while, not as much as the swaybar end-links.. I'd say they're pretty reliable, just maintain it like any car though and it will last forever.. Treat it like ****, you're gambling

i would buy one with less than 60,000 miles. im curious to ask you though how hard the the swaybar end links to change and do they make aftermarket that dont turn it into a hard riding ricer? i just posted asking you to show a post here, but i guess you already did. i wont drive it like some old ladies do and hold my car on a hill with the tranny.

why do you say you wouldnt drive one and what kind of car do you think is better for style, mileage, and reliability, not to mention resale value?

you know anything about subarus and hyundais?

would a 4 cyl last longer than a 6 cyl in an accord or how do you like the engines.

also i was thinking of a k&n stock replacement filter for maybe some better mileage and the assistance to pass someone if needed. any other mods that still maintain mileage and reliability that would help that car?

this probably has nothing to do wit hthe type of car your looking for i personally like amercan cars espcially gm whether its pontiac or chevy ect but if i could find something that i liked my next place to look would be the germany auto market. cars are powerful sexy sporty luxury and very reliable and if your not looking for all that you can go cheap like a vw and audi bmw and suposedly bmw all have cars cheaper then a buick pluse i think bmw has 3 cars cheaper then a buick. bottom line it comes down to you . you wil be the one putting out your money for something you must like or want to have but that would be where i would look if the american auto market failed me. thinking of the subaru baja

now what do you guys think?

and im serious too, they are freaken cool. but its now either that or a colorado... or a little $1500 beater rig till i am ready for the price of the rig i would like.

the pros and cons if you guys could think of them would be great if listed for the colorado and the baja. i know alot of the pros and cons but its best to have a second or third opinion on the rigs. they are both the same price. almost
