2002 honda accord, 4cyl, 28 mpg in city, 2 door, very nice, silver metallic, every option in the book, 50,000 miles. $13,995
drove a 4 door, dont need all 4 doors so

i took off the link because it was getting hard to read
what other kinds of cars have the reliability, class, mileage, and resale value of this kind of car? any ideas

what other cars do you have that are comparable and why do you like it.

any ideas and feedback would be greatly appreciated, my camaro is on its last legs and i need a nice, reliable, car.

Wow, you'd spend that much on a car that is that gutless? I mean, to each their own but I wouldn't do it. I'm sure it's great for point A to point B driving, but you'll find yourself missing your F-Body after a while driving that vehicle. After I traded my Camaro for my Regal GS, I found myself wanting something a bit sportier. This is why I have the GTP now: power, sportiness and comfort with good mileage (averaging 28MPG on the highway, not being kind to the accelerator, LOL). Keep looking, unless you'll be truly happy with that car. In that case, more power to you!

nice car, drove one as DD one night for proably 80 miles or so. was loaded v6 (I think) leather automatic. seats were 100 times better than my cloth seats in the bird. Nice driving and riding car, very solid. Dunno about the price, not sure what is a fair price for one. If it was well maintained and you keep it properly maintianed it'll proably go 200k miles without major problems

Now comprehend what he is saying, especially what is in italic. The GTP I just purchased with 145K miles on it runs strong, averages 27-28MPG (And that's including the trip I took up into the contenental divide for over 200 miles, lots of high altitude mountain driving and not being kind to the accelerator). I think it meets the criteria he set forth, and it costs a HELL of a lot less than the Accord he's showing. If you want to just be blind to other options outside of Japanese cars for reliable and efficient daily drivers, go ahead and do so. I'll be laughing as you try to keep up in your econo car. ;)

Ooh, ooh, sorry! I'll just pull a couple of spark plug wires off my GTP and then we can compare? What's the big deal? If you can have power and economy, why would you want a lesser car? Oh wait, that's right! We're pidgeonholed into thinking only Japanese cars can offer efficiency and reliability! Why get all three (including power) when we can only have two, and pay more for it! Oh, we're sooooo forward thinking and intelligent.

Piss off, he asked for other ideas and I gave one. If you don't like it, I could care less. If he doesn't want other people's opinions, then he can say so and I won't bother trying to expand his horizons to other vehicles.

If that's what you're after, I say go for it. Those are reliable cars.

I've personally learned to like Hyundai. My wife and I put 50k on our Santa Fe in less than a year and it still drives great and no problem. It's also nice to know that I have the 100k warranty just in case it does need it.

If I could get another practical car. I would get the new Sonata. It's built in the USA and it has 235 hp and the styling que has gotten better. It's still priced below Accord and Camry.

i watched a little show on the new Sonata i was pretty impressed. alittle pricey IMO for a import sedan....especially for a Hyundai though

You remind me of a child that places their hands over their ears while saying "LALALALA!!! I can't hear you!"

Good for you. Your mommy would be proud.

hmm, what about a lincoln ls. sporty car. fairly reliable, holds it value pretty good (just sold our 01' v8) and its very comfortable, might be what your looking for, they've got a 6 with an auto or stick, or for a little more you get a v8 only auto. good mileage on the v8 too 3.9L. Look into it ;)

The Accord would be a nice choice. Looks like it would be dependable. But for $13k you could buy a brand new car. Chevy Aveo, Saturn Vue, Nissan Sentra, Kia Rio, Pontiac Sunfire, Honda Civic, Chevy Cavalier, Toyota Echo, Toyota Corolla, and the list could include many more. If I were buying a car just to get to point A to point B and look good doing it I would probably buy new. Its your money and you're the one who has to drive it so do want feels best to you.
