• Selling the winter car

if you're here to stalk my threads...please dont post...its actually starting to get pretty weird...anyways...yup...im tired of paying all that $$$$$/month for my camaro during the winter that just sits in my mom's garage for 4 - 5 months...so im just selling the corsica and using some of the money to buy a good set of winter wheels and snow tires...never had a single problem when i had 16s with snow tires...only had to take the car off the road when i got 18s with ultra high performance tired...it'll be nice to get my nice chrome wheels off for the winter too...and i'll save some dough in car insurance since i only have to insure one car...which is more than enough with my record

You might want to put this in the for sale section and say how much you want for your car too, if you are trying to sell it here

Don't stalk your threads. I just happen to read the majority of the posts on this board. Yours just happen to irritate when you get "mightier then thou" syndrome and think you own the board.

          sorry, had to.

i've always heard that insurance goes down when you have a beater for your daily driver as opposed to driving a "sports car". so is this wrong?

yeah look into that first, make the beater the primary car and the 'maro secondary... just a thought.

I used to have an oldsmobile as a beater, but it finally got too broken to be worth fixing as a lot of beaters do. I don't know what I'll do this winter.

Do winter tires make the camaro that much better in the snow?

....stalker  ..and "mightier then thou" syndrome comes into play when someone is a complete @sshole to you for no reason...not just simply disagreeing with you...but more than that...i come here every day and offer my advice on things that i may have had problems with myself in the past..to try to help others whether they like me or not...because i enjoy doing it...ReodDai...you seem to be here for a different purpose...what exactly im not sure yet...your posts show the type of person you are...nothing more...dont get me wrong i make my fair share or cracks...but jokingly...and i say so...not just to be a prick...anyways...with that said and done...

thanks guys...but i already did that last year...put the beater as the primary...but with my driving record it doesnt do much good...its not so much the money either...i LOVE to drive my camaro...who wouldnt love to drive their own?...so i figure why store it all that time while paying for it...when i can still drive it without a problem if i get some new winter wheels/tires

Beat you to the punch Dangerous...

I tool around here in Amsterdam all winter long in my car. My tire rim combination allows this car to tackle the snow quite well. And yes Red V6 Raider, the tires make a HUGE difference. I got caught in a snowstorm before I put my winter tires on, and I thought I was dead for sure...

Oh, and if you want some suggestions for your rims... mine are 15 in 4x4 S10 rims up front, and 15 in Caprice steelies in the back. Went to a junk yard and payed 10 or 15 bucks a rim (Cant remember). Dropping down to 15s allowed me to put on a skinnier tire which is better for cutting thru the snow. I grabbed a set of aggresive snows for front and back, studded in the back, and the thing goes like a tank.

niiiiiice ...thanks for the info...and you have the ground effects too...i never had a problem when i had 16s on there...just put snow tires on the back and that was that...made me always wonder why people said camaros were so terrible in the winter...because mine drove through snow like nothin...then i put on ground effects and 18s with ultra high performance tires...wish i got a picture of them pulling me out of the snow bank on the way to my mother's to store it lol...it was sick...anyways..the snows i used were 215 wide ...how wide are the ones you use on the 15" wheels?

Yea, I had to wait till I got home and could check my basement for the tire sizes. Im running 205/70's on the front, and 215/70's on the back. Yea, deep snow is the only problem, because the cars tend to plow through it and get hung up on it because of how low it is in spots. And I dont know if you have ever been through Amsterdam, but do you know that very first big @ss hill on your right when you get in the city from route 5 coming from Albany? Well I have to go up that way to get to my house, and that can be a real b*tch in the winter... Other then that, with a little skill, no problems.

Dude, drifting in snow is soooo much fun! While all the other people who suck at driving are out crashing their cars while going 15 mph I'm out getting sideways for kicks

Just make sure the bolt pattern is 5x4.75, I think just about anything will, but I'm not certain.
