  • How nice are the cops where you live

Im asking this, because the police force around this area in amazingly lienient. I have been pulled over twice, and never recieved even a warning.

First time - Wreckless driving, exhibition of speed, failure to yield, and speeding by county police chief. Result - No ticket or warning.

Second time - Speeding (68 in 55) by state police. Result - Verbal warning.

Now, my friends have gotten out of even more amazing sh(t than I.

1 of them was pulled over for for 47 in a 20 (school zone), and let off with verbal warning.

1 was pulled over just last night for 88 in a 55 in his Mustang, and was let off with a written warning.

1 of my good girl friends was pulled over for 90 in a 55...and the cop didnt check her license or anything, just told her to slow down and have a good night.

And finally, another of my buddies was pulled over for 87 in a 55...and he got a warning.

Everyone i just mentioned are 16-year-olds, including myself. I find it absolutely amazing how everyone just keeps getting away with stuff.

How are the cops where you live?

I think cops were more lienient on me when I was 16. I've been pulled over for street racing and doing 120 in 55 and doing a U-turn right in front of the cops(I didn't know that they were following us because they had their headlights off and everything). And they just told me to stop racing.

But on the other hand, I got pulled over for careless driving when I was 17. The road condition was bad(It was right after winter sothere was gravel all over the road). and I was doing under the speed limit. But the cop give me a ticket because I squaked my tires. I didnt even hear any squaking. Fought it and lost because its my word against State cop.

holy crap im going to move there

the cops here aren't exactly AHOLES but i got a ticket for going 71 in a 50, i told him it was my first and he still didnt give me a warning instead, the bastard, o well. ive found that unless ur on the interstate going 110 u really dont save much time speeding on the street

The cops in my town are out to get me. However, state cops around here rule. The reason for this is that State Cops don't rely on violations for funding like locals do. Their focus is enforcement of the law, not making money.

Wow, where do i start about the cops around here..... Well they are all out to get any young teen, some of their cars include 2 camaro z-28's with clear light-bars int he windows (these guys are the most arrogant people you have ever met) a green trailblazer un-marked, a blue suburban un-marked, just crown vics of various colors un-marked. They are so bad that my friends parents have had to meet with the County Sheriff.. the first weekend my brother got his car (16) he was talking to some friends in a mcdonalds parking lot and they followed him all the way to our street wheere they pulled him over and refused to tell him why they pulled him over. It turns out that they thought he was dealing drugs?? Anyway they have nuthing to do becuase there were 8 cops for this one car and one person..? It sucks

I've been pulled over once and got a bull**** ticket for running a red light. It was still yellow when I went through the intersection. The one time I get pulled over, I get a bs ticket. One of my friends has been pulled over numerous times for doing stupid crap and he never once got a ticket. Go figure.

I lived in Philly for a while and only got pulled over once. For the most part, if you didnt cause an accident I dont think they really cared. All but one of the cops that I ever ran into were pretty cool. I was working construction in the art museum area, rennovating a row house. It was broken into a couple of times, and we got to know the cops who came to take the report. Our work site became their break area, and like 5 or 6 of them would come and have dougnuts and coffee with us in the mornings.

Ive been stopped maybe two dozen times. Only got 4 tickets, and I deserved all but one. I only had a problem with two of the officers for traffic stuff, and those happened to be the two women cops that pulled me over. They were mean, vengeful individuals and both instances were for the most petty of reasons. Only disagreement I have is the politicaly 'who-knows-who' situations where laws apply to some people and not others.

Only time I got pulled over in Philly was pure harrasment. I was a very white kid in a very bad section of a very black portion of town...driving a car with an out of state license plate. Gave me a 'Failure to obey a traffic device', which was BS because I had to come to a stop at a 4-way intersection so a car that came to the intersection before me could cross first. After goin through the intersection the rather hefty black woman cop pulled me over for 'blowing through the intersection and accelerating and trying to evade her once I saw her.' The only 'accelerating' I did was when it was my turn to go through the intersection. I knew she was coming up to the intersection behind me. As soon as she put on her lights, I slowed down, put on my hazzards and pulled over in a side street (nowhere to stop on the 1-way I was on). It was kind of funny though, she was using such stereotypical ebonics and the flailing arms and finger snapping as she described the 'crimes I committed.' The whole time all I could picture was her on Jerry Springer. In the end it was a $50 ticket and at the time there wasnt any reciprocity to affect my NY drivers liscense.

Here we go again....i was driving to work today...behind a cop. Down the road...i CLEARLY saw a car "roll" through a stop sign, at what was at least 20MPH. The cop did not pull the guy over...

I seriously pooped myself. I started laughing and even said to myself..."haha jackass, ur gettin pulled over". Then the cop just followed the guy and turned off.

                        Amazing....

i usually drive around town in specific areas so i have a good feel for where they might be doing radar but i rember i was coming home one day and not paying much atten and all of the sundden i se this guy hope out his car( which i npw know it a crown vic) and flag me down. once he fully got out fo the car i was like o **** cause i saw the uniform. he cheked my license told me was doing a 38 i think in a 25 gave me a writen warning told me to slow it down put my seat belt bak on casue i took it off to get my license and reg out my pocket and have a nice day. all in all i think he was preatty decent about it and could have just given me the ticket.

i used to live in philly; loved philly.

yeah, if you drove through a certain part (esp. north of Allegheny and 5th, and anywhere west of South st., like Bainbridge), you're bound to get more suspicious looks from cops if you're lighter skinned. Cops in Jers. are total dicks.

as far as in TX 'ill country...some TX state troopers are cool, but many are bored @ssholes, depending on how far out in the sticks you are.

on the outskirts of San Antonio (i.e. Live Oak, Shertz, Cibolo), cops are notorious for pulling people over for driving 2-3 mph over the speed limit, and ticketing for it.
